' . ' . It II 'W . 3 It is September again. We all have enjoyed our summer I : 3 I ' N U . 1 fficers we elected Art Price to the post of president, Bert Bggagonna served as our vice-president, secretary was Vivian Shafer and our treasurer was Beverly Stanton. One of our main projects this year was the publication of the school newspaper, the 'Sl. We sold school pencils, and secon semester we sold refreshments at the basketball games. On Sadie Hawkins Day, and st. Petr-ickvs Day we Sponsored danceg- our big social event of the year came in May when we had The SPI'i1'18 W if l dance. We danced to the music of Don Jones 5331325 o:cig2trg?maEveryone agreed that Art Germony and Norma d Gross were a charming couple as king and queen. Our junior year ended, and with it went many fond remembrances, but now our minds were filled with thoughts of warm summer days. September came and we returned to school, but this time it was different. We were at the top and were Seniors. We had other thoughts though also. We were in the nhomestretch,n and somehow we knew that it would pass much too swiftly. Because Art Price did such an excellent job as president of the junior class, we once again elected him president of the Senior Class Bob Lindsay was our vice president, Nancy Wiebach our secretary, and Vic Kimbel, treasurer Class advisors were Mr Sims and Mr Hamilton We started out the year by selling magazines The Senior plays came next, and were a great success They were Those in Glass Houses, He Ain t Done Right By Nell,u an The Laundry Mark' We also sponsored a Country Fair It was a lot of work, but the fun we had putting it on overshadowed the work Our social event came in December when we had the Christmas Ball 'stardustn was our theme, and music was by Don Jones and his orchestra Art Price and Barbara Edmond were crowned king and queen Of course the big production this year was our year book, and the one which we put the most time and effort on It is the one tangible thing we can keep for many years to come which will remind us of our school years This June is significant but also because it marks chapters in the story of our top, and now we must leave studies, teachers, and mid No matter what our future not only because we are graduating, the closing of one of the happiest lives The Class of 'Sl reached the and year may memories of the days spent there hearts it isn't easy Behind us are exams Ahead of us who knows be, Wayland Central, and the will always hold a place in our ....1:i15'1iiEiE.f:EEll:E245XX 9 . Well, I guess they started a little too early because, from all reports, Lila and Francis have obtained a divorce and Stephen never did get married He says, WI wouldn't give up this bache lor's life for any women N I guess when we graduated the girls decided Texas was where they were all going Marilyn Huntone, Jean Leeson, Jean Mehlen backer and Pat Gessner all thought that living near an Air Force Camp would be fun, and I am certain none of us regret it now I also heard we have some new businessmen in Wayland When did Nat Cyr give up potato farming to become proprietor of the Blue Goose? Neil Wolfanger has also taken over his father's business How is he making out? I could hardly believe my ears when I heard world at one time, but I guess his better days are gone forever. Bert Bonadonna was teaching his eleven sons the meat market business I guess he surely has changed from his high school days Since when did he get over that shy manner? I wasn't surprised when I heard that Daisy La Barre had changed her name to Saxton and they are running a dairy at Loon Lake I guess the town still has its share of the scientific farmers Bob Bump and Vivian Shaver finally got together and now live in the Shaver's old house one the North Cohocton road, while Bob and Arlene Becker own and operate the Moutain View Inn Lyle Lawrence is still a bachelor, and he owns the largest farm within fifty miles around Edna Adams is still working on the prospect of becoming a farmer's wife Barbara Brock has finally landed the biggest member of Carney and Carney Potato Farmers Inc I guess she doesn't mind helping with the farm chores Bob Lindsay with Victor Kimbel on their turkey farm Bob Gray has become known as the world's most famous composer of western songs Bob Zeh is known as the number one Romeo in Patchinsville I never expected him to move to the big city Ed Yohon must have lost his scientific touch because I hear he is now the street cleaner on Sandy Hill We have a few teachers from our old class that I believe I should mention Art Price is head coach at Perkinsville Univer sity It must make it nice having his wife I the former Barbara Edmond! as head of the physical education for the women in the same university Bill Wittig has become principal of the Wayland Central School, and Carol Rex is teaching music at the same school. Kneeling L to R R Didas, G Walker, G Miller, T Huber, D Davis, H Elsenheimer UWOR VARSKTY The junior varsity basketball team encountered a new experience this year ----- breaking a sixty eight game lossing streak which had been hanging over them for a long period of time. The team was coached by Mr. Hatch this year. Although this team did not win all of their games they showed a marked improvement over last year. Probably the highlight of the season was in an overtime game with Dansville on their court. The score was tied again in the first overtime. When play resu ed Everette Weiermiller recieved the ball from center and sank a field goal from half court which meant a victory for Wayland. 5 Standlng L to R: Manager, G. Willy, J. Gilman, H.
