Esthuy D .Av ,A ,., CLASS HISTORY Four years ago we found ourselves eager and innocent freshmen roaming aimlessly about the halls, seeking our various classrooms. If only we could be like those upper- classmen who seemed so calm and self-assured! We were quite a large group of flftyg and, therefore, we were divided into two groups with Alice Riley as head of one, and Bing Lorenzo as leader of the other. We held weekly meetings at which we discussed various school matters and individual problems. Our social activities included skating parties, a sleigh ride, and a Christmas party. Then our sophomore year began, and we again elected Alice Riley as president and Bing Lorenzo as vice-president, who had so capably guided us through our freshman year. We were now well acquainted with the 'waysn of W. H. S., and our social program included sponsoring dime dances and a Max Rainey dance. Our junior year proved to be one of great activity. Centralizatlon brought in many new members from North Cohocton and Atlanta. This year Ardis Way was elected president. We resumed the publication of the school paper, nThe Fortnightn, which had not been published for the past few years. In the spring we put on two successful one-act plays. This was the first time the junior class had had a junior play for many years. We also sponsored a dance after one of the basketball games and a dance featuring Oll1e's Orchestra, but the high-lite of the season was the Junior Prom. The theme was nHawa1ian Nights' with music furnished by Andy Grillo's Orchestra, and we were greatly gratified for our hard work when the prom proved to be a financial, as well as a social success. Last fall as the school bells called us back, we were somewhat saddened for we knew that this would be our last year at W. C. S. Since the school was under repair because of the fire, and we had only half-day sessions for the first few weeks, we were under great handicaps. But we adopted the theme of nN1l desperandum , and we were soon organizing our year's activities with the able executive ability of Miriam Baird, Mrs. Weiermiller and Mr. Nitchke as our class advisors. Our first activity of the year was a Hallowe'en dance with music furnished by 0llie's Orchestra. In December we presented three one-act plays. Besides having fun practicing, the lays advanced us financially toward our goal, a senior trip. gba thin was the Christmas Ball on December 26th. The provided a beautiful setting for the music of 's Orchestra. Early in January we began work on . With Elaine Schultheiss as editor and Irene iwe set out to make this one of the ons. forward to our graduation, the goal to achieve during the last four have attained our desire, but of regret as we bid farewell loved Alma Mater.
