FLYING QUEEN ASSOCIATION J. REDIN SMITH MARKHAM of Athletics Queens' Coach a d MR. AND MRS. CLAUDE HUTCHERSON FLYING SPONSORS Wayland ColIege's Hutcherson Flying Queens are most fortunate in having as their sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hutcherson, Plainview, who practically adopt the whole team each year. The 1955-56 season is the seventh that the Hutchersons have served as sponsors. During this time they have made possible the playing of games in many sec- tions of the United States and Mexico be- cause they have flown the Queens in four Beechcraft Bonanzas approximately 75,000 air miles. Even before they assumed spon- sorship they flew the teams on a number of trips. Mr. Hutcherson, a Wayland alumnus and a member of the Council of the Associa- tion of Former Students, has long been an avid sports fan and Mrs. Hutcherson is al- most as enthusiastic. Both are active in many local civic and social groups of the -area and also participate in flying organiza- tions throughout the country. as fl- Rik-r L 12,6 J F 'ff x.
