Q ' Dearest Lillian: 3 gg I arrived in Chicago just in time to attend the celebration of the fifth anniversary g of the law firm, Pierce and Cross. Dick Cross fthe jeweler, you know, and his wife, 'Z more, now owned by Cleo Iahnel. we all went to the midnight matinee, Fraidy Cats, ' featuring Gwendolyn Asher and Henry Pennington. 5 Yesterday being Sunday, I decided to spend a few hours in church. What do by ' you think? Rev. Edwin .Setzler delivered the most inspiring message I have ever heard f on Modern Christianity. Walter Hodges was choir director. 5 nee Georgia Lee Ludeman, were also at the celebration. After a late dinner at the Biltf K Obedient to your wishes that I find out all I could about our classmates of W. B. f C., '3Of'31, I have made quite a few interesting discoveries, as follows: 'I rf Slick Close has a huge income without any apparent occupation. Q Mae Wilson is one of the best criminal lawyers in New York. fa C Edna Pennington has just been elected Re resentative to the United States Conf 5 f I P . gress rom owa. I , Minnie Moss is also one of those with an unknown source of great wealth. ' V 5 3 Kirby Kirkpatrick is the Chief of Mounted Police at New Orleans. - Q 4 Maurine Largent is teaching French in the high school at Des Moines. 7? ' Okla Mae Lawrence is a television expert. -. it 3 Truett Hodnett may be heard delivering lectures on Travels in Foreign Countries ' every Friday at 7:30 P.M., Central Standard Time. Q Fern Harris has achieved the reputation of the outstanding financier of this decade. 5 ! Manuel DeBusk is a sailor, as are Earl Hartley and Wilbur Sloneker. V 5 4' Coleman Draper fformer Senator from Texasj is now writing short stories. 2 Q' Maxine Sloneker is Professor of Economics in Baylor. Q A. W. Coltharpvis. a salesman for the Fuller people. ig Helen Yates is nvmg quietly with her husband somewhere in Idaho. . 1 ff Among the aviators and aviatrixes are Ada Greer, Earl Landtroop and Rebecca 2 - Gri in. 5 f Henry Culpepper has just left for Alaska where he is doing research work. 4' All in all, it seems that many of our former classmates have achieved outstanding ' ,A success. Probably the perseverance they learned in the hard times of their college days 4 has contributed to this factor. 1 A , I will probably be home by Friday via the Fields Airline so that I ma attend the 4 . . . . Y 4 first sitting of the Texas Legislature. By the way, the Davis revenue bill that we passed ' last April has been receiving much favorable comment by the financiers.
