W Y - ,. , . , , - .Y .- .., .Gi 3 K 9 if S . ' PRESIDENTS OFFICE TAKE this method of extending greetings and felicitations to the students, past and present, of Wayland College. For more than ten years it has been my supreme joy to to know personally those who have gone in and out from this institution. This joy has been heightened and deepened from time to time as l have had occasion to observe many of these young people out in life. serving so well in places of responsibility and trust, and truly exemplifying the highest Christian ideals. Some of these years have been fraught with conditions distraught and most ad' verse to the normal and expected growth of an institution, but relief from the burden of debt has removed the last barrier to progress and the future is indeed promising. Already there has been a marked change in the attitude and interest on the part of the people in the PanhandlefPlains territory toward Wayland College. There is an ever deepening con' viction that this vast and resourceful territory should be served by a Christian college, and that ultimately funds will be provided for a plant. commodious and adequate, to meet the needs of a forward looking people. A number of churches are contributing monthly to the college expenses through their budgets, and others have signified their willingness to take substantial offerings. Dr. I E Nunn of Amarillo, who has been vitally interested in Vv'ayland College for a long time and who has made many contributions through the years and to whom this annual is so timely dedicated, has made a worthy and highly commendable challenge for a permanent endowment. He proposes to give twentyffive thousand dollars on a two hundred and fifty thousand dollar drive, the first five thousand to be given at the be' ginning of the campaign. Mr. and Mrs. P. Collier of Adrian, fine ranch people, who have been very sue' cessful in a business way and yet withal have lived deeply spiritual lives, gave a section of good wheat land to the endowment fund. The Alumni Association of VVayland Col' lege is undertaking to raise fifty thousand dollars for the endowment fund. Mr. Bei-1 Godfrey of San Angelo is chairman of this committee. I entreat you to help us in this task of raising funds, enlisting students and n giving favorable publcity to the college. I desire to express to you my sincerest thanks and the deepest gratitude of my heart for the unanimity of spirit that has so long prevailed and for the most gracious loyalty universally manifested by Wayland students.
