The main speaker of the evening is Bernie lleselton, head coach at Lawrence College. 23-Tue.-The first basketball game, here . . . we heat St. Marys of Fond du Lac, 50-49. 24-VVed.-Sehool's outwfor a few days, at least. 28-Sun.-Thankful for the vacation, we reassemble to work off all those Thanks- giving goodies. 29-Mon.-Vlle get a preview of the Arthur Murray dance course watching two teachers demonstrate in the big gym. 30-Tue.-The basketball team wins at luneau, 73-38. DECEINIBER I-VVed.-Community Concert, pianist Natalie Ryshna. 2-Thur.-Oh, goodyl?? 6-weeks exams again. 3-Fri.-Basketball here . . . we walloped lXl.U.S., 68-55. 4-Sat.-Swimmers defeat lVl.U.S., 54-28, there. The W Club activity is in the little gym: entertainment is provided by the new initiates. 5-Sun.AAll the weeks of rehearsal are culminated in a beautiful presentation of llandels oratorio, The Messiah. IO-Fri.-V712 lose a basketball game at Lake Forest, 53-48. Those at home go to the Odeon to see Desiree, ll-Sat.-The seniors' Silver Bells Ball, given in a pretty setting of evergreens and bells, is a great success. Bud Wilber's orchestra plays from a sleigh. 12-Sun.-The Y.VV.C.A. Nativity Pageant. Carrie Smith is the lovely madonna. I3-Mon.-The Christmas dinner, complete with table decorations. 14-Tue.-Parties in the dorms. VVayland. Hall gets a new television set. 15-Wed.-No more school this year! Merry Christmas! Hn-

19-Tue.-It hardly seems possible, but here beginneth the first session of 6-weeks exams. 22-Fri.-A movie in Linfield, Against All Flags, preceded by class meetings and a pep assembly. 23-Sat.-The hockey teams tie and lose to M.U.S. in Milwaukee. The football team also plays there and wins, 14-6. Skit practices all evening, and Club Henri is open. 24-Sun.-United Nations Day, a program in the auditorium. 27-Wed.-The first Community Concert given by a group of five harpists called the Angelaires. 29-Fri.-We get the afternoon off to put up our effigies. The Centennial Home- coming officially gets under way with the variety program. At the bonfire and pep rally on the upper tennis courts Coach Boya announces that Connie Zipprodt has been elected Homecoming queen. 30-Sat.-First hockey team ties Downer, l-1, and the second team loses, l-O. The thrilling football game ends with VVayland defeating Milwaukee Country Day, 20-19, for the first time in 25 years. Then the terrific Homecoming Dance in the big gym with the music of Eddy Howard and his orchestra. 31-Sun.-At the big noon banquet, Pickard Hall is formally dedicated. NOVEMBER 1-Mon.-Chapel is eliminated so we'll get some extra sleep after that hectic, but wonderful weekend. 5-Fri.-Down town to the movies, It's a Womans VVorldl' and Hell Raiders of the Deepf, 6ASat.-We close the football season at Lake Forest, losing 25-13. The Shoe- String Fling is the dance given by the juniors, bingo and a hilarious skit with Helen Burton, Judy Voss, Craig VVard, and VVard Keil. 12-Fri.-Another movie, this time Bright Victory in Linfield. 13-Sat.-We lose two hockey games to Downer, I-O and 3-O. The seniors spon- sor the first activity in the new rec room, the Hobo Hop. 18-Thur.-The University of Wisconsin basketball team gives an exhibition in the big gym. 19-Fri.-We are cordially invited to attend the movie Lorna Doone in the auditorium. 20-Sat.-The sophomore activity is called the Turkey Turnabout, and is held in the rec room .... JANUARY, 1955 l-Sat.-The morning after the night before-Happy New Year!! 3-Mon.-Welcome back to school in the really, truly centennial year. 4-Tue.-Basketball at Horicon. We come home victorious by a 47-45 score. 7-Fri.-A good, cold walk down to the Odeon to see The High and the Mighty. 8-Sat.-We win a swimming meet at Elgin, 48-26. The activity is a dance given by the town students in the little gym. Cotton-covered balloons make very good snowballs . . . and don't take the schmoos, please. ll-Tue.-Basketball at Watertown. We beat the Northwestern Preps, 55-48. 14-Fri.-M.U.S. comes here for a basketball game and goes home with a 59-37 defeat. 15-Sat.-The swimmers win again, this time by 39-35 at Lake Forest. The bas- ketball team drops a 53-50 decision to M.C.D. here. The rec room is open after the game. I6-Sun.-Miss Bridges' and Miss MoncrieFf's pupils give a recital in the audi- torium. 18-Tue.-We lose a basketball game at St. Mary's Springs, 69-48. 21-Fri.-Ice Carnival Week End gets underway with snow sculpturing in the af- ternoon. At night is a basketball game against Lake Forest highlighted by the first appearance of the girls' drill squad Cwho inspired OD the boys to a 62-49 victoryj. We all get on the radio as WBEV makes a recording of the announcement of Laura and Fred's election as queen and king of Ice Carnival. 22-Sat.-Informal lunch and broomball and hockey games. Wayland wins every event of the swimming meet against M.U.S. At night is the wonderful Coronation Ball featuring the music of the Tempelaires. 23-Sun.-Finals of the broomball series and a general quieting-down so we can start to think about- 26-Wed.-SEMESTER EXAMS.
