OCTOBER 3-Football . ,Milwaukee Lutheran , there we lost. First class activity of the year, the seniors take over with Crazy Man Crazy . 9-First movie in Beebe Auditorium- The World in his arms . IO-Football North Shore Country Day there we won. Girls drag their men to sophomore turnabout-poor boys never knew what hit them! 13-Kenneth Smith ffirst of Community Concert se-riesi. I6-Class skit rehearsal, then Club Henri. 17-Football M. U. S. here we won. All the bums turn out for the Juniors Bums Ball. 19-United Nations is observed with a talk in the evening by Mrs. Gundersen which was enjoyed by all. 22-You new students get first taste frather sour? of our six weeks exams. You old students are already aware of the conditions that prevail . 23-Movie party at the Odeon- San Antone and Space Cadets . 24-Football .Milwaukee Country Day there we lost. In the evening skit rehearsals and cards etc. in the girls' dorm. 28-First extension program-Mr. H. Wood speaks On art. 30-Beginning of Homecoming weekend. Class skits fFreshies run off with firsti. Bonfire, snake dance, to bed for students and snacks in the library for parents and fortunate ones. 31-A.M. You tore out of bed to watch the mighty amazon hockey team play against Downer girls. P.M. Football Lake Forest here . we lost. Nite.. banquet honoring Dr. Hicks 'til 9:30, then dance 'til midnight then Cinderella must return to the dorm. f- 1 av H Page Ninety-seven

SEPTEMBER l2-Football boys roll in early to loosen up rusty hinges-badges of a lazy summer. I3-Some old YW girls arrive early to welcome new girls and to check on new boys. 16-The fateful day-school officially opens with dinner at 6:30 for all students. . ,Rather crowd- -ed, eh what? I l7-Assembly in the A.M. ln the P.M. hike to Crystal Lake for food. . .etc. I8-Onward! The march to the Odeon- Bend ln The River . Quite a send off for the first activity of our 1954 year. KYou ain't seen nothin' yetj ' I9-Football. . .Blake . .here . .we lost. Dr. Hicks announces his departure to Kalamazoo Col- lege as their new President. Our new Headmaster is Mr. Patterson. Y.W. and W Club mixer-boy looks girl over-girl gives boy the eye-Result? a new couple. Golly, what an evening! 20-Faculty down students in softball game. 25-To the Odeon to see The Woman They Almost Lynched and Count the Hours . 26-Football. , .Northwestern Preps. . .here . .we won. At night class meeting to plan for Home- coming, roller skating and dancing later. 29-Our new dietitian Miss Dahlman arrives. 30-Y. W. Girls down one streetp boys other street to see Martin Luther t Odeon. I4-Highland Fling by the Seniors. l5-YW Recogniation Service and tea. 20-Cordial recital followed by a reception. Remember your manners, boys, not too many Cookies. 21-First basketball game , Horicon ,,here. . .we lost.
