No matter what the field of endeavor, be it in the area of sports, music, or scholarship, the students and faculty have taken pride in our achievements. This year there has been seen a rebirth of that spirit of old, that fighting spirit of the Waxahachie Indian which has made our school what it is today. And from this re-kindling of the fires has evolved our theme, THE SPIRIT OF '54, so like that fighting spirit for right of I78 years ago. Now, pass through the pages of our school diary and discover for yourself that game and spirit making A itself felt on every page! gy y I iiif Administration ED CLARK MRS. W. D. ANDERSON MRS. College Again, this year the staff of The Chief together with the student body and faculty of Waxahachie High School closes this, the fifth annual edition of The Chief, with a word of grateful appreciation for our advertisers. Although there are evidently many businessmen who doubt the effectiveness of yearbook advertising, the greater majority have realized that by purchasing annual advertising they are not only living up to their civic responsibilities, but buying an advertisement whose lon- gevity is not measured by minutes as in radio, by days as in newspapers, nor by months as in magazines, but by untold years of being read and re-read by a student body and its families who 'represent a vast buying public. Thanks again to you who have given us your support. Another note of thanks is in order to the faculty for its cooperation fespecially during picture-taking daysl. And to Mrs. Fearis and her commercial classes who were of invaluable aid to the sponsor and staff. The Staff its .2 As you turn these pages today, or on some tomorrow, you will re-live the won- derful times you had back in the good ole' days at your Alma Mater. With the passing of years this annual will become a priceless treasure-train to whisk you back along memory lane to reioin your old friends and re-visit familiar places. As we at USECO turn these pages, we see the America of tomorrow, the farmers, the lawyers, the doctors, and the many trades and professions so ably represented within these pages. We are hon- ored to have played a part in recording this pictorial history of your 1954 school days . . . . . . and THAT'S A FACT! .fl I - I - USECO , IE ...- WN..- -Auf nl A W ' . g i W UNIVERSITY SUPPLY and EQUIPMENT C0 6001 East Rosedale Fon Worth, Texas WWFWWW X E55 if i23 i M , gf ESS 5?
