Our combination first and second grade under the guidance of Mrs. Anne Hubbard, came into existance two months after the opening of school, when both our first and second grades 'became too 'large for effective teaching. This class has been kept small in order to compensate for the two grades being combined. le had many opportunities in this class to learn cooperation with others and to assume the role of leader.

Our main concern during the school year centered about various aspects of community life: people, animals, and activities of the community. The introduction to writing to many of us came during our stay in the second grade.
