'Carnival Queen and Runner-Up Queen Shirley Langford, Mr. T. J. Sanguinetti, and attendant, Wilma Bindi. Elected in a contest of popularity in our school, Shirley Langford was chosen to reign as Queen of our first school carnival and Junior Olympics held on May 17. Wilma Bindi as runner-up acted as the Queen's attendant. ' The Coronation Ceremony The weatherman plays a dirty trick on us and serves us wind and warm weather for our Coronation ceremony. Mr. T. J. Sanguinetti, supervisor for our area, crowned our Queen Shirley. The Parents' Club provided coz-sages and outfits for the girls. -

Transportation- - '.- :- W, For the first time, students at Waverly School were offered trans- portation to school. We began the year with one bus, but by February had realized that one bus could not provide enough transportation. An average of 187 students were transported to school dailv. l' ' wx ', A 1 i Officer McCann ofthe Highway Patrol worked closely with us in setting up our bus routes, and in pioneering in San Joaquin County schools in the use of Safety Patrol boys onthe buses.
