School Cafeteria Hazel White poses while Jerry March dis- poses and cafeteria helper Jerry Rusher looks on. Our school cafeteria began operation on February 1, 195.4 with Mrs. Taylor as head cook and Mrs. O'Neil and Mrs. Johnson assisting. Financial assistance is given through the state and federal government, and surplus foods are made available to us at less than cost. Tables and benches fold down from the wall. Here the seventh and eighth grades are enjoying their hot lunch. Caught with kitchen duty!

SAFETY PATROL With the advent of school bus service at Waverly, the crossing guards became a thing of the past. Traffic boys provided a real service in assisting the bus drivers in maintaining order on the bus and in helping children across the highways and in and out of the bus. SCHOOL CHORUS Miss Stetson molded a group of inexperi- enced singers into a fine sounding chorus. Trips were made to the neighboring schools be- fore Christmas to sing carols. Mr. Williams was given a special serenade upon his return to work from an absence due to illness. PARENTS' CLUB Headed by Mrs. Don O'Neil, the Parents' Club actively supported the school through ac- cepting the responsibility for paying the cost of equipping the school cafeteria. Their help has been a real contribution to the school. Parents Club PAPER STAFF Richard Benetiz, as Editor, aided by their advisor, Mr. Morganti, succeeded in publish- ing regularly a popular publication, Waverly Waves .
