7w4ffff LUCILLE W, EDWARDS, A.B, Mrs. Edwards teacher English and is the Librarian. She is the advisor to the Senior Class. After graduating from Waverly High School she attended Illinois College and Mac Murray College at Jacksonville, Illinois. She also attended Normal University and Missouri State Teachers College. Mrs. Edwards began teaching at Waverly in 1936. She resides here with her husband and her son. CHARLENE HOBBIE, B.S. Mrs, I-lobbie teaches Physical Education. She ls the advisor to the Freshman Class, and to the G. A.A. She attended grade and high schools in Jacksonville, Illinois, after which she enrolled in Mac Murray College. She began teaching in Waverly upon her graduation from college in 1950. Mrs. Hobbie ls married and resides with her husband in Waverly, ROBERT LAWTON, B.S., M. ED. Mr. Lawton teaches general business, physics, algebra, math, and geometry. He is advisor to the Sophomore Class. He attended grade and high schools in Plymouth, Illinois. He attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa, the University of Wisconsin, Knox College, and the University of lllinois. He spent two years in the Navy, and came to Waverly in 1948, where he has taught since then. Mr, Lawton is married and has two children. JAMES CONLEE, A,B,, M,M.E. Mr. Conlee is the director of the Waverly High School Band. He also directs the Grade School Junior Band, He attended grade and high schools in Jacksonville, Illinois, after which he enrolled in Illinois College. He has also taken courses at Mac Murray College and the Vander-Cook College of Music in Chicago Mr, Coulee began teaching in Waverly in 1950. He is married and has two children. wrt-r E. Lows, a,s, Mrs, Lowe teaches general science, chemistry, and biology. She attended grade and high schools in St, Joseph, Illinois, After graduating from high school she enrolled in the University of Illinois, Mrs. Lowe began teaching at Waverly in 1952. She has since mar- ried and resides here with her husband and daughter. STANLEY MILLER, B, A. Mr. Miller served three years in the army during World War II, After the war, he attended Illinois College at Jacksonville, Illinois where he took his B. A. degree in History, Spanish and English in 1949. He then went to Mexico where he did two years graduate work at Mexico City College, Mexico City, Mexico. He did further work in Education at Illinois College and the University of California, This is his first year of teaching, Mr. Miller is married and lives in Jacksonville. He has one child.

Mr. Laugham is the Assistant Principal and teaches Industrial Arts, He is advisor to the Industrial Arts club and the Student Council. He attended grade and high schools in Pleasant Hill, aftr which he enrolled at Illinois State Normal for four years. He has also attended the University of Missouri, Colorado State Teachers, and the Univer- sity of Illinois. Mr. Laugham began teaching in Franklin in 1928 and taught there for fifteen years. He moved to Waverly in 1943, and has taught here since that time. He is married and has four children and three grand- children. LUCILLE HAGEMAN, PH. B., A,B,, M,A, Miss Hageman teaches U. S. History and Govemment-Economics. She also directs the Music Department and is sponsor of the Music Club. She attended grade and high schools in Wanenton, Missouri, She has attended Central Wesleyan College, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of South Carolina. She began her teaching career in Blackwater, Missouri. Miss Hageman has also taught in LaPlata, Missouri and Sesser, Illinois. She came to Waverly ln 1947, and has taught here since that date. JOE SPALDING, B.S, Mr. Spalding is tl1e Coach at Waverly High School, He also teaches Physical Education and World History, and is advisor to the W Club, He attended grade and high schools in Matthews, Missouri, after which he enrolled in Murray State College, Kentucky. He has also at- tended the University of Illinois. Mr, Spalding began his teaching career ln Zalma, Missouri, ten years ago, He has since taught ln Kewanee, Missourig New Madrid, Mlssourig Longview, lllinoisp and Pleasant Hill, Illinois. He moved to Waverly in 1952 and has taught here since then, Mr. Spalding is married and has one son. ALBERTA TERNEY, B.S, Miss Temey teaches Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Homemaking and Senior Homeliving. She attended grade school in Detroit, Michigan, and high schools in St. Louis, Missouri, Later, she attended Carthage College, Illinois. This is her first year of teaching, RALPH TWENHAFEL, B.S. Mr, Twenhafel teaches Vocational Agriculture and is advisor to the F. F. A, and the Senior Class, He attended grade school at Neunert, Illinois and high school in Gorham, Illinois, He has attended the University of Illinois and is continuing his graduate work there, He began his teaching at West Pike, Kinderhook, Illinois after graduating from college in 1951. This is his first year at Waverly High School, He is married and -has two children and resides in Waverly. GOLDIE E, BIVIN, B,S, Mrs. Bivin teaches typewrltlng, bookkeeping, shorthand, and busi- ness machines. She is also the Wave Staff advisor. She attended grade and high schools in Higbee, Missouri, after which she enrolled at the Teachers College, Kirksville, Mo. for fan' years. Mrs. Bivin has also attended the University of Missouri and me Knapp Business College in Tacoma, Washington, She began her teaching career in rural schools, advancing to jtmios highs, and later tc business training in high schools. Mn. Bivin became the Secretary to the President of Hannibal-LaGrange College ln 1947. She came to Waverly in 1951, and has taught here since then. She is married and lives on a farm near Girard.
