!..- !! ,-f Q f xl: N 'HM J I -o 40 ,f il 'ul Lx vX CL SS PUEM. Listen, my Children, and you shall hear. Of a wonderful class--the best for years. In nineteen hundred and forty-eight We entered this school, which we thought great. 1 As freshmen, we were not so green And often made those seniors seem Like folks you've seen who think they're IT Until they're taken down a bit. When sophomores we did become, Things surely happened with a hum The teachers said and sadly smiled. Oh, they'll get over it after a while. Then when the year did fade away, And junior-ship came next our way, We put away our childish pranks, We became the wisest in the ranks. We gave the seniors such a prom They said we'd bankrupt some good farm, But never-the-less they liked to eat And said, That class just can't be beat. But now has come the Years of Years. When we have reached that coveted goal. A few short hours and all is o'er And we shall drift to another shore. For four long years we have toiled together But now the time for worse or better Has come when we must say good-bye . Away from High School soon we'll fly. Farewell, Farewell, W. H. S. We know you are made of the very best. Our memories fond, of you we'll keep Until we go to that long, long sleep. SE l0R CLASS HlSTORY The class of '52 started their big adventure in High School in the fall of 1948 with forty-six members. The first thing we did after we had found our way around was elect the following officers: President--Wayne Miner Vice Pres.--LeVonne Le Fenstermaker Sec. and Treas.--John Sexton Reporter--Virgil McMahan Miss Norma Brown and Mr. Robert Lawton were our class sponsors. During the year we had two skating parties and sponsored a Sadie Hawkins Dance for the whole school. Our Sophomore year came around before we realized what had happened. We chose the following officers: President--LeVonne Le Fenstermaker Vice Pres. --Wayne Miner Sec. and Treas.--Bob Staton Reporter--Bill Rowden Student Council--Betty Mieher We had Miss Edith Robinson and Mr. Carrol Lowe as sponsors This year we had a skating party and a hayride and weiner roast. The Junior year, our class had thirty-eight members. We chose the following officers: President--Verna Dorwart Vice Pres.--Russell Morris Sec. and Treas.--Betty Mieher Reporter--Virgil McMahan Student Council- -Harold Allen Miss Edith Robinson and Miss Charlene Holle were our class sponsors. As is the usual custom, the Junior Class was responsible for the Jr.-Sr. Banquet and Prom which was held May 4, 1951, To do this meant raising a lot of money by selling candy and popcorn during noon hours, and at all ball games. We also benefitted fr-om the proceeds from the Coke Machine, A Sadie Hawkins Dance, a Bake Sale, and a Paper Drive. We also presented Hasty Pudding . The members of the cast were Betty Mieher, Naomi Holloway, Donna Chapman, Audrey Gibson, Harold Allen, Donald Mayes, Russell Morris, and Virgil McMahan. The directors were Mrs. Treat and Miss Hageman. Now we have come to our Senior year with much regret to the fact that this last year. The membership was thirty-one. ' Betty Mieher was awarded the D.A.R. award having been chosen by her classmates and the Faculty. The class of '52 has been active in all sports and music activities during their stay in W.C.H.S. The Senior Play was given in April with Mrs. Treat and Mr. Tharp, Directors. To close the year we enjoyed a Banquet and Prom, -'a trip to Chicago, Baccalaureate and most of all--G raduation.
