FiGfl £«j{©©L w vsRTf, ©HI© 1969 in memoriam gayle— class of 1969 We can still see the streaming black hair bouncing on her shoulders as she walked down the hall; we see it as it blows in the brisk wind. We see the face of radiant beauty, the gleam in her eye, and the pleasant smile she always wore; we recall the charming voice bringing happiness and cheer wherever it was heard. We remember her for her fresh sense of humor, from the jokes she shared in the driver education car to the lively stories of the people she had known and loved in her native Vermont. She was endowed with a sense of honor and devotion--to her school, to organizations in which she actively served, but most of all, to her fellow classmates. Perhaps, we, as students of Waverly High School, remember her most for her unsurprassed congeniality, as evidenced by the scores of friends she made since she first became a part of our school, our community, and our lives. Though Gayle has left our midst, the light she left in our hearts still shines, and the joy she shed upon our lives still lingers. In the hearts and minds of all, Gayle will forever be a member of the Class of 1969. graduation— the end of a beginning and the beginning of an end... Jahn vocational school Lindsay Ratliff--Supervisor Elizabeth Thompson Charles Burgess in memoriam mrs. settle faculty 1968-69 Although students and teachers at Waverly High School will not see Mrs . Eileen Settle walking down the halls to class next year, they will still remember her. She will be remembered for the interest she had in every student she ever taught; she showed a personal interest in her students by her willingness to help those who needed help. She always managed to take time out for a student in need, evidence of her admirable quality of unselfishness. One of her main interests was working informally with individual students. She was also interested in students who were not in her courses by showing not only willingness but also eagerness to help most group activities in any way possible. Those who knew her will always remember the familiar smile whenever she greeted a student or teacher. They will remember how she shared in the fun and jokes in her classes, but always with the knowledge that work came first. Whenever she spoke, her students listened; and most of them knew when she meant business. She was respected by students and teachers alike; she showed respect for her students by treating them with dignity. In the loss of Mrs. Seattle, Waverly High School will miss a youthful woman with a cheerful smile, a great teacher, and most of all, a dear friend. languages Patricia P.
