Hail and We, the Class of 1962, have chosen, as our yearbook dedicant, Miss Johanna Samson, in recognition of her service to Waverly High School. Miss Samson graduated from Waverly High School in 1934 and obtained her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She also attended Wilmington College. Miss Samson has been an English teacher at Waverly High School for numerous years. With her patience, guidance, and understanding, Miss Samson has helped and will continue to help entering freshmen adjust to their new life. We also extend our thanks to Miss Samson for her efforts in aiding with the installation of the Robert LucasChap-ter of the National Honor Society at Waverly High School, and for the time she has given as advisor. When we think back to our high school days, we will always remember Miss Samson and encouragement which has inspired us to ever greater achievement. We dedicate to Miss Samson her favorite poem: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flakes. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. 4 From COMPLETE POEMS OF ROBERT FROST.
