Your advice in our journalistic pursuits, your supervision and direction of our class plays, your outstanding success as a classroom teacher, and your unfailing loyalty and friendship have contributed more to our lives than you would perhaps believe. In your absence, we have tried to carry on as you would have wished. The 1954 Waverly Novel will reflect your planning and the supervision which you so willingly gave at the beginning of the school year. It is therefore the wish of the senior class of 1954 that you be especially honored in this edition of the Novel.
