The Hi-Lites have completed seventeen years of service in Waverly High School. The staffs have always tried to create and maintain a sympathetic relationship between the home and school by mirroring Waverly’s many activities in our columns. We exchange with twenty papers and have gone beyond the boundaries of our state, even as far as California. Unless directly connected with a school publication, one does not realize the magnitude of the project. However, the Business, the Circulation, and the Editorial departments, working together in perfect harmony, have made this project a success. We have received fine cooperation from everyone, especially in emergencies. The members are unanimous in wishing to express appreciation to the entire school and community for a successful year. Future Farmers The Future Farmers of America is a national organization of farm boys with a combined membership of more than 70,000. The members must be enrolled in vocational agriculture and receive a major vote of the chapter. The purposes for which the organization is formed are: to develop rural leadership, to create a love for country life, to encourage cooperation, to promote scholarship, to improve home surroundings, and to aid rural recreational activities. Our chapter was organized November 19, 1934, by R. O. McFerren. Under our present advisor, Robert D. Campbell, the enrollment numbers 32. We willingly assume our duties and are justly proud of our club. The club is organized for the purpose of keeping abreast with the current topics of the days. The meetings are held at the home of our history instructor, Mr. Helman. We use as a basis for our study “Our Times” and the “World News of the Week.” Our discussions have been both profitable and pleasant.
