CLASS COLORS CLASS FLOWER Deep Rose and Silver Red ROSS Twelve years ago a graduation was held in the Waverly High school auditorium, an unusual one, for it was a kindergarten graduation, After this unique beginning, the class continued its way through grade school, junior high, and high school, and on May 23, 1960, graduated a second time. Miss Martens, the teacher of the class at the time of their first graduation, sent her best wishes and congratulations on their high school commencement, The class of 1960 was indeed an active one. Among their achievements as juniors was the production of the play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay, and the sponsoring ofa Junior-Senior Banquet and prom, Chez Parcel' The style of class rings was also changed through their efforts as juniors. The varied talent in the class has been displayed in many ways this year, The Broadway production Craig's Wife was presented as the senior class play, Many outstanding records were compiled in areas including sports, music, and dramatics. The original cover on this year's annual was designed by James Carver,Ourhigh academic standing was observed at commencement when it was announced that 13 in the class had maintained a B plus or higher average through four years ofhigh school, About 45 of the 98 graduates will enter college this fall, As a gift from the class this year, a Stereo-l-li-Fi console was presented to the school to be used at class parties and later transferred to the new school, We, the Senior class of 1960, take this opportunity to thank our parents teachers, and friends for their guidance in preparing us to take our places in society.
