FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT MEMORIES OF SCHOOL There is something kind about memory, Just as shad- ows conceal the glaring colors, the rigid lines and the scars and blemishes of objects, so memory, as the days and the years recede, softens the sharp angles of disappointment and mutes the harsh tones of temporary failures. Thus, mellowed and softened by time, school days remain as happy days in the student's memory, For the teacher, the picture of that pudgy girl or this mischievous boy may become dimmed by memory, The individual problems, disappointments and joys seem to blend, lacking the incidentals and petty details but still revealing in shadowy outline the panorama of all the boys and of all the girls in their broader accomplishments and successes.
