Thus, mellowed and softened by time, school days remain as happy days in the student's memory, For the teacher, the picture of that pudgy girl or this mischievous boy may become dimmed by memory, The individual problems, disappointments and joys seem to blend, lacking the incidentals and petty details but still revealing in shadowy outline the panorama of all the boys and of all the girls in their broader accomplishments and successes. They are responsible for the many jobs that go together to make each show what it is. Among other things, the Masquers publicize each event, locate costumes, construct the attractive sets, handle the lights and sound, and make up the actors. A set strike and cast-crew party is a highlight of the last night.of each performance. 52 QUILL AND SCROLL lug This year there were three members elected to membership in Quill and Scroll, Mary Ann Clark, Janet Platte, and JoAnn Fails. They competed in both the state indoor and out- door meets and the highly touted Drake and Mohawk Relays, placing high in the field on contenders in each case. Ecker won individual championships in the high and low hurdles, broad jump and high jump. No flash-in-the pan, Ecker proved his right to these titles by repeating in three of these events in the state outdoor meet, finishing second in the high jump. On only one other occasion in eight meets did Ecker fail to win a first in the events in which he participated. His season's record included the aforementioned state meets, NEIC conference meet, Drake Relays, Mohawk Relays and the district meet. He specialized in the high and low hurdles, high jump and broad jump. His accomplishments will stand as an inspiration to future Go-Hawk thinclads for many years to come.
