In their first year as Freshman Hawks they were assisted by their sponsors, Mr. Anderson and Miss Twombley and elected as their officers, Gwen Chestnut, President: Wendell Liemohn, Vice President: Joan Matthias, Secretaryg and Jane Knott, Treasurer. Their Student Council representative was Roger Wiegmann and for homecoming queen candidates they chose Marilyn Hamilton and Cleo Kern. They also got the first prize for the cleverest homecoming float. They really tried their wings as Sophomores with Miss Eno and Mr. Miller, as sponsors, guiding them along the route. Elected to lead their class were Jim Mercer, President: John Chezik, Vice Presidentg Barbara Downing, Secretaryg and Mary Ann Ward, Treasurer. They elected Wendell Liemohn Student Council representative and chose Marilyn Hamilton and Gwen Chestnut to represent them in the queen's court. By being a good listener they learn to appreciate a good performance and also to recognize a poor one. After each student has performed, the group offers its criticisms. Some of the students were soloists in the Music Contests this year.
