They adjusted quickly to their new surroundings and chose officers and sponsors as follows: Dick Morton, president, Shirley Strotman, vice president, Don Brandt, secretary, Bill Engelbrecht, treasurer, Miss Schirmer and Mr. Hammerer, sponsors. Most of the freshmen took part in as many activities as the upper classmen and many of them received recognition as a result of their efforts. Don Brandt received his varsity letter in football after only one year experience. The freshmen were also well represented on the B basktball squad.
