SECOND ROW: Robbins, Deubler, Brown, Mrs. Shafer, Grace, Brown, Lyon, Nailen, Brown, Bucholtz, Griffith, Fahey, Parente, Morrow, Button, Eddy, Payne, Simonds, White, Richards, Ayers, Greenfield, Mclver, Parr, COLUMN CLUB The Column Club, which meets each Tuesday, 8th period, compiles and edits the school news for the Evening Times, Under the guidance of Mrs, Shafer each week the task of selecting and writing the news is up to the club , members, for it is through this column that the public is kept in touch with many activities which do not find their way into the headlines, At the meetings, articles of interest are discussed, decided on for publication, and then as- signed. This is the tenth year that the club has been functioning and this year it has one of its largest staffs -- thirty-five members, Officers were elected early in the year as follows: President, Nancy Fernquistg Vice-President, Stuart Schwartz, Secretary, Gerrianne Compton, Treasurer, Rosemary Dimon, At the beginning of the year the Column Club initiation of new members took place. The initiates were blind- L folded and sent though many obstacle courses. During the early spring, the students of the three valley towns took over the publishing of the Evening Times L with the aid of the regular reporters. This has been an annual project, which our club has undertakenfor several years, It has proved to be a profitable and an enlightening experience for all participants. , LATIN CLUB i This year's Latin Club was one of the most active in the C1ub's 20-year history. The Club was also the one of the largest in its lifetime, Fifteen new members were initiated in October, making a total of 27 active members. The initiation took place at the Waverly Glen. The annual Ides of March banquet was held and the club closed the year with a picnic. Officers are: President, 1 Sue Cramerg Vice President, Jeffrey Knapp, Secretary, Joan Leary, and Treasurer, Terrance Nailen, The advisor is Miss Corby.
