OUR UPERI TE DE T IN l937 To The Class of 1954: The publication ofyour class annual in the year of our community's Centennial Celebration should have a special significance for you. lt is not only the time to become familiar with the history and achievements of your home town during the past one hundred years, it should be the occasion for much self evaluation. It is relatively easy to point out how much better the way of life is today, both in school and out, than it was a century ago. Butit isn't quite so easy to sense that this progress is the result of great vision, much hard work and many sacrifices on the part of succeeding generations during this time. We,who enjoy thisheritage, must be sure that we are worthy of it. We can best do this by availing ourselves of the vast educational, industrial, professional, and civic opportunities all around us. Thus we will be enabled to contribute to the continued progress of our community. You are about to graduate fromhigh school and you are thereby taking the first step in fitting yourselves for effective citizenship in the world of today. Congratulations and good luckl Sincerely yours, Q A2 5
