We followed highway 50 up through Ottawa and then down to Harrison- ville, Joe's old home town, where we stopped for our breakfast. By 8:00 we were back on the road again. About 11:30 we had a .short break in Springfield. We left there by 11:45 and we were heading for the last stretch to Rockaway At 12:15 we had reached our destination After We had our instruct- iions, and our cabins were assig- nedfwe unloaded the bus and Went to unpack, Our cabins were real cute. They were painted red and white and the inside was neatly decorated. Afer we got settled we headed down town for dinner. The rest of the afternoon was spent doing what ever you choosed. That evening everyone went to town. Some went bowling, dancing, boat riding, and oth- ers just walked around. At 8:00 Saturday morning we took out for a sight seeing trip to Un-cle Matts cabin, Sammy Lanes cabin, and inspiration point where Harold B611 Wright wrote the book S-hepn her of The Hills . Aifter this we went through Marvel Cave which was very interesting. In Branson we had a short b-reak. While we were at the dock the boys decided to go back to Rockaway in a speed boat, 5. we girls rode back by our our- selves. We were feeling preta ty broken hearted because we didn't get to go, so Joe Roger-.Q bought us a Dairy Queen. When We got back we had din- ner and thena lot of us renteli motor boats for the afternoon. Others went swirning and then some went shopping. Saturday night we cleaned up and got out of our dirty jeans and went to town, for a big evening About 8:30 Sunday we took out for home. We really had .1 good laugh with Warren Grounds. Sine he had get ten up early and packed, he wallp- ed down to the dock and sas down, Naturally he went to sleep, so the other boys went off and left him. We drove d'o'w.n past the dock while Mr Borgna ran down and told the owner to wake Warren ani .Vive him a :big line about the .ivs leaving. Boy we sure laughed after it was all over. On our way bank we stopped at liure-ka Springs for a 'bite to ent and then we observed the hills. About 12:30 we stopped in Cassvillc for our dinner. Here we vsited Roaring River and also the Fish Hat-chery. Both were very interesting, By 1:00 we were bark on the road You should have heard all the hollering when we hit the Kan- sas line. Man, were we happy to see flat country. About 7:15 we pulled in to Waverly. This trip was enjoyed by all and it was a wonderful and educa- tional experience.
