From New York: Jack Bayless of W.H.S. is now president of the Bayless Implement Cor- poration. Mrs. Doris Crimes, a grade teacher of Waveland, is now retiring from teaching and will reside in Honolulu, Hawaii, with her husband Mike. Mrs. Hazel Machledt was seen in Waveland cutting a rug with Webb Eubank at Shular’s Pool Room. And at her age, too! Mrs. Roy Sarver (Marianna Chappel) is now teaching her eighteen little darlings their ABC’s. You know she always wanted to be a teacher. Ed Hoffhaus was picked up in Grand Rapids on a charge of bigamy. After checking, police found he had a real harem—twelve wives. What does Lucille have to say about that, Ed? It finally happened! Pat Hester was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment of a dislo- cated hand. She was taking dictation so fast from her boss that her hand came loose. She can now scratch her elbow without the use of her other hand. An almost amazing news item comes over the machine: Irene Handley is now teaching school in the hills of Kentucky. (It seems to me that she always did like school.) A special news flash brings us the news that Norman Walker has replaced Ray Bloch on Ed Sullivan’s Toast of the Town television show. Norman fits all requirements—a shining, hairless head, and a good sense of humor. Mrs. Overpeck ex-Waveland teacher, has now taken Joseph McCarthy’s place in inter- national affairs. (She always did like to argue.) The stock market went beserk today with the news that Mr. Larrv Hazlett, former agri- culture teacher, has bought Fort Knox. He had to draw the money from ten of his thirty banks. Congress was debating today as to whether or not to give Terry Evans a life-time marriage license. It seems they are afraid he’ll wear the license office’s doors out buying marriage licenses. He’s been married thirty-three times. Just think, sixtv-six dollars! Mrs. Bernard Mitchell today played Mrs. O’Leary, when her cow kicked over her atomic milking machine, that started a fire that completely burned down Peanut Village. The first millionaire of Waveland, Ottis Reynolds, has become owner and president of the Suicide Driving School. Mr. Reynolds was recommended for the job bv the Marshall of Waveland who noted how carefully he drove while in high school. Miss Marie Ward, former Waveland teacher, is playing the leading ladv in the soap opera, ‘The Romance of Helen in a Tent”. Starring opposite her are Webb Eubank and Bob Arvin, two famous comedians. Charles McMurry today was chosen Mr. Universe in Paris, France. He was judged by Van Johnson and Marilyn Monroe. As the time machine, now hammering and clanking noisily, keeps running along it brings us this news: The former social studies teacher of Waveland High. Herman Hall, presented his concentration theory on the Kinsey Report to Mr. and Mrs. Dwight David Eisenhower last week. The ex-president stated that he could not keep up with the brilliant orator. Hall was highly praised and given a certificate of knowledge. Once the smallest boy in his class, J. P. Morgan is now the champion heavy-weight wrest- ler of the world. He has progressed from ninety to a two hundred and eight)' pounder. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sewell (formerly Miss Deloris Hutson) announce the marriage of their daughter. Eureka Belle, to the dashing young John Handley, Jr. of Waveland. Warren Brewer, the boy who skipped school to go to the International Harvester Show, became the Universal Corn King for the second consecutive time. As the beam is turned toward the far south we are astounded with the news that Mr. Fred Whitecotton and Mr. John Ward, both of Montgomery County, Indiana, are still missing. When last seen they were believed to be on their way to Key West. Florida. Thev both were seen with fishing poles. From the space waves we get the information that Mrs. Virginia Foster and Wanda Hess, both of Waveland, have taken over the position of Emily Post. It’s now permissible to order elephant’s milk at swanky restaurants, thanks to them. As the time machine with an ever increasing din of wheezing and clanking starts to vibrate at a tremendous rate, the professor reaches over and turns off the switch. One police- man turns to the other and nods. They both agree that what they have seen would make anyone crazy!!! Page Thirteen

Senior Class Prophecy A prominent Waveland teacher, just for the sake of being able to say “I told you so”, paid a fabulous price to a known professor at Culver Institute to peer into the future for him with his newly perfected time machine. The result was that the teacher went stark raving mad, so police are investigating at this very time. As the switch is thrown, here’s what we see!! Coming out of a cloudy haze, we sec Mary Ellen Miller teaching school in a Colorado Indiana Reservation. She always did have a preference for wild Indians. As we pass over the Windy City”, a gust of wind brings us the news that rancher Jeff Jeffries of Padock, Kansas has been chosen the outstanding liar of the vcar in an annual contest of the Liars Club of America that met in Chicago last month. Rolling on and on in an endless space, we see John Walker is now captain of the Minn- eapolis Lakers, a professional basketball team. A short note for the girls! He is still an eli- gible bachelor. Passing through Pot Hook, New Mexico, we see that Irene Hester, former home ec. teacher at Waveland, Indiana, has been found. It seems that she was wanted for the kidnapping of Texas, the little state that does all the strutting. Asked how she had secured the state she said, It was easy, I put it in the glove compartment of my Croslev.” She is being shipped to the Brookfield Zoo. Two gun “Pistol” Pitcock, a graduate of W.H.S.. finally laid down her guns to become the first ladv to ever hold the high rank of warden in Poughkeepsie Prison in Ohio. We just picked up the news bulletin that Mr. Max Gentry, the handsome thirty-eight year old bachelor of New York’s “400”, has been see with Miss Elmira Zilch, the most beautiful girl in the world. (Max has all the luck, doesn’t he, fellows?) Jerry Johnson, the space waves told us, is now better known as ‘Terrible Theodore”, the wrestler, and will defend his title against “Horrible Hoff bans”, former math teacher of Waveland. on March 21, at Madison Square Garden. (Note to gamblers: The odds are 2-1 on Iloffhaus.) Headline news is that William “Doc” Bolton has just turned down two coaching jobs, one at U.C.L.A.. and the other at Texas coaching the All Stars. He says he’s retiring because of ulcer trouble. Turning the beam toward Waveland we s. e that Ernest Brown has just acquired the position of third trombone player in the Waveland Symphony Orchestra after a nine-month tour of Putnam County. News reached us that Jon Foster, a not-so-hot-noblc bum, has risen to become president of one of the largest distilleries in Kentucky. From Las Vegas comes the startling news of the capture of Public Enemy No. 1, Victor Pence, the former principal of Waveland School. He was wanted for stealing government books. This crime is punishable by life in prison. As we pass through Hollywood we hear this news: Elinor Apple, first woman senator of Indiana, today officially hooked Wally Cox, television’s most elegible bachelor. This highly colorful romance started when Wally accidently hit Elinor while lie was riding his motorcycle. Although he is quite older than she, all seems well. Jerry Joiner, who was the smallest girl in the senior class of “54”, is now performing in Victor’s Flea Circus. Mrs. Glascock, a teacher at W.H.S., has just become a Bachelor. (Referring to her Degree.) As the machine keeps humming along, we pick up the news that Miss Linda Howell, of Waveland, has just won the International Hog ('ailing Contest. Another bulletin tells us that Mrs. Flossie Servies was released from San Quentin prison today after serving a twenty year sentence for embezzlement. It seems that over a period of ten years she had stolen over $5(),(XX) from the Waveland School, bv hopping up the books. Famed millionaire Sidney Shanks, formerly of Waveland, has just made his fourteenth billion. (Sidney always was good in bookkeeping.) Page Twelve
