1951 Senior Class Prophecy Mr. and Mrs. Gale Grimes listening to a news broadcast one April evening in 1961. These were some of the items that were called to their attention. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is Stuart Place at station WHSZ in Bal-Hineh, Indiana. The news you hear is from the wires of the Associated Press. Indianapolis, Indiana: The former star athlete of Waveland, High School, Keith Greve, has iust set a new record by completing four years of work in only nine years at Butler University. (Keith always said that there was nothing like determination.) Today there is a Tri State search on by the Ohio. Indiana, and Illinois police. The search is for Winnie Wendall (alias El Flirte The Grasshopper, and Flatf x t Fogarty). She is a former graduate of the Waveland High School. The search is under the direction of Harold Starnes, who was her high school sweetheart and would like to set her on the right track. Sacramento, California: Today the police picked up Wayne Seybold for desertion of his wife, the former Lucreta Hester and their 11 kids (wait here is a flash to this article, the No. is now 12.) Tampa Florida: Here is a flash about what the tallest man in the world is doing. Don Whitecotton is at the present time changing light bulbs in the highest theatre in Florida. You know Don is 9ft. 6in. now. New York, New York: Bob Greve the only person who ever understood all of Einstein's Theories has just issued his own and startling theory of gravitation, which even Einstein can't understand. (How did you do it Bob?) Rockville, Indiana: The big maple syrup king, Jim Dooley, announces his marriage to Miss Pat Hays, a teacher at Waveland High School. The marriage is after only 10 years, 6 months, and 6 days of engagement. (Jim wonders if maybe he is rushing things t x much.) San Diego, California Naval Training Station: Don and Barbara Crowder have announced the arrival of twins. Thev have such cute names Judy and Lukcy. The Mrs. Crowder is the former Barbara Allen. SVm Francisco, California: Here is a report that Lawrence Brewer has just collapsed behind his lxx)kkeeping desk. The collapse was caused by his 48 hours of continuous work trying to get ahead again. (We can under- stand that because he was always a chapter or two ahead at Waveland High School.) Indianapolis, Indiana: Alice Brown was just elected Miss Indiana in a beauty contest. The judges were: Walter Penn, Lee Evans, and Homer Robinson. I wonder where Freddie was. Crawfordsville, Indiana: Officer Eugene Redden picked up five Waveland men for reckless driving. They were Herbert Youman, Mr. Edwin Hoffhaus, Mr. Lawrence Hazelett, Cliff Davis, and Gale D. Grimes. (Eugene was al- ways such a law abiding citizen.) Rossville, Indiana: A teacher and a former student f Waveland, Norman Walker and Patrick Weese, now are the proprietors of a girlie girlie show, and they say when Mr. Walker is feeling g xxl he joins in. Their main attractions are Clara Lou Milligan. Hazel Machledt, and Cinnv Moore. It is said that Webbie Eubank and Johnnie Ward have special reserve seats on the front row for every night performance. (At your age too, lx ys.) Advertisement: Mary Lam Brown announces the opening of her new school for girls. The name of the school is Be at Your Best. . The sclxxil is for teaching girls poise and conceit. (You all know that when Mary Lou was in school she didn’t need a teacher.) Indianapolis Motor Spcedwaij: Richard Johnson a former student and speed demon of Waveland, has just broken all records for slowness on the two-and-one-half-mile brick and asphalt speedway. He averaged four and eight tenths miles per hour for five hundred miles. (Quite a change from high school days. Eh! Richard?) Denver, Colorado: Larrv Servies the multimillionaire has just purchased the Hadacol Company from Senator La Blanc. Servies reported that Hadacol was ruining his business. (He plans to destroy the formula.) As you all know Larrv is an undertaker. Washington, D. C.: President Truman was late for an important meeting this morning, and it was reported that he was stuck on a muddy road with Joanne Edmonds. (I see that Joanne nas a way with Presidents.) Central Hospital: Flash! Flash! A reported break at Central Hospital. The escapee's description is brown hair, green eves, no teeth, medium complexion, six f x t (tall that is), and weight 225 lbs. Men lx on the lookout for she is dangerous when she sees men. (Well I see that Anderson is up to her old High School tricks again.) (Continued on page seventeen) Page Eleven
