Page Nine Last Will and Testament of the 1951 Senior Class We, the almighty Senior Class of Waveland High, being of (?) mind and many bodies, do hereby, on this 27th day of April, in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred fifty-one and one third, will and bequeath some few of the varied and numerous possessions, aets and remarks acquired throughout the twelve or more long, hard years of alter- nately behaving and misbehaving and generally worrying our teachers to death at good old W.H.S., to the non-illus- trious and ill-fated Senior Class of 1952 in the hopes that they, too, can bring themselves to the high standard which the class of 51 has left them. I, Wayne Seylxdd, being the laziest of all the Seniors will this, my pride and joy, to Bob Hester. It won’t necessitate too great a change will it, Bob? 1, Larry Servies, will to David Grimes my ability to get along with Mr. Walker so well in band. What are you going to do with all the gum, Dave? . . . Loan it to N. R. until recess! I, Robert Greve, will my height to Ivan Brewer. This should make you feel pretty high. Ivan. I, Helen Anderson, will my great gift of gab to Betty Starnes. It isn’t so difficult, Betty. I. Patrick Wcese, will my blonde curly hair to James Wasson. I use curlers, “Poodle. I, Helen Hester, will all of my precious Senior books to Rosemary Miles. That’s to keep them in the family, Rosie. I, Winnie Wendall, will my job of keeping Mr. Grimes’ assemblies to Violet Reynolds. See how many conduct grades you can cut, Violet. You’ll Ik surprised at the number of enemies you can make. I, Don Whitecotton, will my hankering to go to C’ville even time I get half a chance to Keith Morgan. I guess it is pretty evident why, Keith. I, Eugene Redden, will my expert driving to Thurman Henderson. See how many tickets you can collect, Thurman. I, Joanne Edmonds, will my gtxxl-fortune of getting stuck on muddy roads with class president to Virginia Nunn. Who are you going to nominate for president. Jinny: BOYS? I, Mary Allen, will my temper to Duane Kelly. You try controlling it, Duane! I, Burnam Tolliver, will my cleverness for getting out of school in the afternoon to Bill Payton. Of course, I had to go to work. Bill. 1, Jim Jackson, will my DeSoto and all of the cigarette ashes in the back seat to Dale Sowers. I’ll lx t you can’t beat me on moving cement culverts. Dale. 1, Lucrcta Hester, will all of my Current Event papers that I slaved over to Charles Hutson. You can be the one in vour class to read them, Charlie. I. Barbara Allen, will my skill for capturing a man in uniform to Patricia Ihxlgkin. I don’t mean the men in the little white coats, Pat. I, Keith Greve, will my brawny build to Ray Spencer. I’ll throw in my bookkeeping lxx k for gtxxl measure. Bill. I, Mary Lou Brown, will my Ixmgs to Rosemary French. See if you can get them to part in the middle. t x , Rosie. I, Alice Brown, will mv package of Chesterfield Cigar- ettes to Vesta Cotten. It’s time for a change, Vesta. Buy ’em by the carton — lx conservative. I, Bob Hannah, will my late hours to Carolyn Sue Hayes. They don’t call me “Hoot-owl Hannah for nothing. From now on it is “Hoot-owl Hayes.” I, Richard Johnson, will my strong stomach to Eugene Handley. Bring on the milk, Gene. I, Betty Miller, will my right to sleep through the assemblies to Evelyn Hughes. Don’t let them catch you, Evelyn. 1951 Senior Class Prophecy Mr. and Mrs. Gale Grimes listening to a news broadcast one April evening in 1961. These were some of the items that were called to their attention. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is Stuart Place at station WHSZ in Bal-Hineh, Indiana. The news you hear is from the wires of the Associated Press. Indianapolis, Indiana: The former star athlete of Waveland, High School, Keith Greve, has iust set a new record by completing four years of work in only nine years at Butler University. (Keith always said that there was nothing like determination.) Today there is a Tri State search on by the Ohio. Indiana, and Illinois police. The search is for Winnie Wendall (alias El Flirte The Grasshopper, and Flatf x t Fogarty). She is a former graduate of the Waveland High School. The search is under the direction of Harold Starnes, who was her high school sweetheart and would like to set her on the right track. Sacramento, California: Today the police picked up Wayne Seybold for desertion of his wife, the former Lucreta Hester and their 11 kids (wait here is a flash to this article, the No. is now 12.) Tampa Florida: Here is a flash about what the tallest man in the world is doing. Don Whitecotton is at the present time changing light bulbs in the highest theatre in Florida. You know Don is 9ft. 6in. now. New York, New York: Bob Greve the only person who ever understood all of Einstein's Theories has just issued his own and startling theory of gravitation, which even Einstein can't understand. (How did you do it Bob?) Rockville, Indiana: The big maple syrup king, Jim Dooley, announces his marriage to Miss Pat Hays, a teacher at Waveland High School. The marriage is after only 10 years, 6 months, and 6 days of engagement. (Jim wonders if maybe he is rushing things t x much.) San Diego, California Naval Training Station: Don and Barbara Crowder have announced the arrival of twins. Thev have such cute names Judy and Lukcy. The Mrs. Crowder is the former Barbara Allen. SVm Francisco, California: Here is a report that Lawrence Brewer has just collapsed behind his lxx)kkeeping desk. The collapse was caused by his 48 hours of continuous work trying to get ahead again. (We can under- stand that because he was always a chapter or two ahead at Waveland High School.) Indianapolis, Indiana: Alice Brown was just elected Miss Indiana in a beauty contest. The judges were: Walter Penn, Lee Evans, and Homer Robinson. I wonder where Freddie was. Crawfordsville, Indiana: Officer Eugene Redden picked up five Waveland men for reckless driving. They were Herbert Youman, Mr. Edwin Hoffhaus, Mr. Lawrence Hazelett, Cliff Davis, and Gale D. Grimes. (Eugene was al- ways such a law abiding citizen.) Rossville, Indiana: A teacher and a former student f Waveland, Norman Walker and Patrick Weese, now are the proprietors of a girlie girlie show, and they say when Mr. Walker is feeling g xxl he joins in. Their main attractions are Clara Lou Milligan. Hazel Machledt, and Cinnv Moore. It is said that Webbie Eubank and Johnnie Ward have special reserve seats on the front row for every night performance. (At your age too, lx ys.) Advertisement: Mary Lam Brown announces the opening of her new school for girls. The name of the school is Be at Your Best. . The sclxxil is for teaching girls poise and conceit. (You all know that when Mary Lou was in school she didn’t need a teacher.) Indianapolis Motor Spcedwaij: Richard Johnson a former student and speed demon of Waveland, has just broken all records for slowness on the two-and-one-half-mile brick and asphalt speedway. He averaged four and eight tenths miles per hour for five hundred miles. (Quite a change from high school days. Eh! Richard?) Denver, Colorado: Larrv Servies the multimillionaire has just purchased the Hadacol Company from Senator La Blanc. Servies reported that Hadacol was ruining his business. (He plans to destroy the formula.) As you all know Larrv is an undertaker. Washington, D. C.: President Truman was late for an important meeting this morning, and it was reported that he was stuck on a muddy road with Joanne Edmonds. (I see that Joanne nas a way with Presidents.) Central Hospital: Flash! Flash! A reported break at Central Hospital. The escapee's description is brown hair, green eves, no teeth, medium complexion, six f x t (tall that is), and weight 225 lbs. Men lx on the lookout for she is dangerous when she sees men. (Well I see that Anderson is up to her old High School tricks again.) Zoom! Reported: The family of Miss Mary Ella Porter was committed to Culver Hos- pital in Crawfordsville, Indiana with severe cases of food poisoning. Oh. well, every one makes mistakes. (More business for Larry.) Madison Square Garden: Lust night the world's new heavyweight wrestling title was determined in a match between Mary Allen and Betty Miller. Mary won in thirty minutes and forty seven seconds, the best two out of three falls. (I wonder who helps Marv train?) F.B.I. Headquarters in Washington: There was a serious accident today when Helen Hester knocked a type- writer off on her big toe. J. Edgar Hoover said “She is so lazy that she got so fat she can't sit down without knocking the typewriter off. (Watch the waist line Helen.) Clinton, Indiana: Clinton now has a new physician. He is the one and only JIM JACKSON. He got his training at Central Hospital in Indianapolis. The reason lie is now practicing in Clinton is because the inmates ran him out because they thought he was crazy. Some of the inmates were: Ray T. Miller, Lucille Hoffhuus, Jean Ratcliff, and Rose Glasscock. Indianapolis, Indiana: Burnam Tolliver, the new president of RCA says that he will make the new color televi- sion regardless of what the government says. (I guess the power has gone to his head.) Hollywood, California: The new Mr. America, Bob Hannah is making a tour in the United States and abroad so that woman can swoon and men can see his big muscles and curly hair.
