FOOTBALL TEAM The Wautoma High School football team tplayed a fine season of foot- ball, but one tie and a loss put them in thir place. At first it looked as if the Hornets would share honors for the con- ference again this year, since they played a 12-12 game with Omro, but their hopes were dashed when they lost a thriller to Westfield, Z1-18. In non-conference play the Hornets won two and lost one. They won a decisive victory over the Rapids B team the fir st game of the season by a 47-0 score. Another victory came over Manawa in a tough battle, 7-0. However, the last ame ofthe season the Hornets travele to West DePere and received a heartbreaking setback, 20-13. Two of Wautoma's players made the all-conference team - Robert Wisner, half-back, and Emil Rinaldi, end. Robert Wisner was elected captain of the football team and Gordon Schultz was named most valuable player. Those making the second team were Gordon Schultz at half-back, Curtis Martin at guard, and Donald Edwards at tackle. The minor letter winners were R. Adney, D. Bertzyk, M. Blader, N. Dahlke, R. Hardtke, J. King, D. Martin, D. Schultz, R. Van Vleet, and G. Polokowski. The major letter winners were A. Bohn, A. Bo p, R. Chipman, H. Dutcher, D. Edwards, L. Glun.n, C. Martin, W. Berzentka, F. Pica, T. Poullete, E. Rinaldi, D. Schmuhl, G. Schultz, D. Skidmore, J. Skidmore, R. Wislinsky, and R. Wisner. The managers were Russ Kittleson, Elmer Hansel, Orville Lehr and Harold Roeske.
