S E 2 S CLASS HISTORY I In September of 1945, forty-three passengers boarded the 'Train of 5 Knowledge.' Upon this occasion she was en ineered out of the station by , S 2 President, Nathan Kittleson, with the assltanoe of Vivian Fritz as Vice Q President, and Maxine Blader as Sec. and Treasurer. The Journey was a long Q one requiring four years of hard toll over a much traveled, but to us, an Ig unknown la?d.h Ag wel are nearing our destination, I am going to relate to E you some o t e lgh ights on our trip. 2 Our first stop was at 'Freshmanv1lle.' We were welcomed at this small Q station with an initiation party, given by the Sophomores. Many of our 5 passengers participated in basketba 1, football, and forensics. Thus we 3? reached the end of our first year successfully. E Continuing our Journey, our next stop was at Sophomorev1lle.' During 5 this part of our trip our leaders were Sherman Waa1aPres1dentg John Reler, E Vice Pres, and Thea Peterson, Sec. and Treas. The highlight of this stop 3 was the Freshman initiation party. Many of the passengers also participated 5 in outside activities. The end of the first two years found us stronger t and better fitted for the last half of our trip. 3 Our next stop was at 'Jun1orv1lle', where our leaders were Alan Wilcox ,E President, Lois Olson Sec. and Eleanor Bushweiler Treasurer. The main event 2 on this stop was the Junior Prom. The gym was beautifully decorated and L the Grand March was led by Alan Wilcox and Maxine Blader. TIG , Our last and final stop was at FSen1orv1lle' where we acquired seven f new passengers, who were to complete our Journey with us. He is one of the better coaches in the state, his record will speak for that. Under his supervision Wautoma High School has turned out many outstanding athletes and many good citizens. They won twenty games and lost three. Of their three defeats, two were lost by three points, and one by one point. After winning the district tourna- ment, they were beaten by Wonewoo in the playoffs. In conference play they won thirteen and lost one. This year was the first year they won a conference basketball in nine yearsg the second year in a row for winning district tournaments. Nathan Kittleson was elected captain of the team this year. Tom Poullette and Nathan Kittleson were chosen on the all conference team. A class 'AN organization of fifty-seven members, the Wautoma A Cappella Choir is one of the outstanding vocal groups in Central wisconsin. The choir travels annually to other schools ln this area presenting concerts and participates in the concerts here at home. ' The highlight of choir activities ls the spring contest held this year on May 7th at Adams-Friendship. The group had much at stake in this year's contest since it received a first division rating in class HBH ln l947 and a first rating in class UAH ln 1948 Many of the choir members will enter solos and ensembles at the Adams-Friendship contest, April 23rd. Sololsts who are seniors are Ann Krueger and Adrienne Trexall. Losses suffered through graduation will again he great. Seventeen of the fifty-seven will graduate: Sopranos- Vivian Fritz, Ann Krueger, Thea Peterson, Irene Schubert, Bernice Bladerg Altos- Alclna Groskreutz, Eernioe Schmidt, Vivian Schultz, Doris Beutler, Maxine Blader, Joyce Kublak, Ruth Taplln, Margaret Wachholzg Tenors- Delores Meyer, Adrienne Trexall, Gordon Thompson, Basses- Howard Anderson, Norlin Harkv, Special mention must be made here for the three acoompanlsts who play such a very important role in the development of a good choir.
