Homecoming week was a great success this year due to the students ' spirit, support, and par- ticipation. Kicking off the week ' s events, the students had fun by dressing up, acting crazy, and just getting involved in spirit week. The float competition this year was very competitive. With an honest effort, the Seniors placed 4th, the Freshmen ended up with a 3rd place, and the Sophomores captured 2nd. It was a hard deci- sion for the judges to make, but the Juniors managed to steal their first 1st place with their theme Give Us Liberty, Give Them Death. The annual snake dance through town was held Thursday evening and was followed by the bonfire and Good Luck, Let ' s Win speeches. Friday evening brought the event that the whole week ' s activities had been leading up to — the football game against Liberty Center. The pre-game events included a showing of the floats and the queen and her court. As the band played the coronation march the 1982 Homecoming Queen, Miss Tracy Cole, and her court were escorted by their fathers out onto Harmon Field. As last year ' s queen, Dawn Stutzman, crowned Tracy, Tracy ' s court, Senior attendant Michelle Friedhoff, Junior attendant Bren- da Alig, Sophomore attendant Diana Bogosian, and Freshman at- tendant Jill Neuenswander, pro- udly watched. The football team defeated Liberty 34-22, giving us our 7th victory of the season. The Homecoming dance took place on Saturday evening. In their long gowns, the queen and her court danced with their escorts to the only slow song that the band ' Ruby Jones ' managed to play that evening. Even though there weren ' t many opportunities for slow dances with your date, the dance was a memorable ending to just a fantastic week. HOMECOMING ' 82 Queen Tracy reigns as TRIBE buries TIGERS 17
