As a basis for raising money to sponsor the Junior-Senior Prom the Juniors presented the class play, Stage-Struck which was very humorous. Another fund-raising project was the J-Hop in which the whole Junior Class worked cooperatively with sensational results. The Junior-Senior Prom was the climax of all the energies of the Junior Class combined. That was our Big Moment! We realize the heavy responsibilities we face in climbing to the top of our school ladder. We hope to equal our success to.that of the l95l Senior Class. The community increased its interest in the band by aiding the Band Mothers in buying new! uniforms last fall. Last summer the band opened softball season with a parade, participated in the Firemen's Convention at Defiance, and played in the Bryan, Deshler, Archbold, Delta, and Wauseon l-lomecomings. The biggest high- light of the band's summer activities was the trip to Columbus to see the State Fair. Pre-game and half-time performances were fully displayed with precision marching and clever formations at all the football games. ln October, the band took part in the Marching Band Festival at Napoleon. Delegates from the band played in the annual County Music Festival in March. Ensembles and indi- viduals toolc part in the district auditions. The band was one of the main features in the annual Spring Concert in May. The success of the band must be credited to Mr. Kunkle whose patience with his students is a never- ending wonder. Tom Roos, center-Although Tom was one of the lightest players on the team, he made up for his lack of weight with a cat-like quickness. Stan Moll, guard-Stan was considered one of the best line-backers in the league and received honorable mention at the end of the season. Bob Lammon, tackle-Bob's size and weight enabled him to fill a large gap in our line. Jerry Boyers, guard-His team spirit was an asset to the team, Jerry was hampered somewhat by a nose injury, Bob Dickerson, end-Bob's speed was an important factor in the Indians' passing attack. He also was a hard tackler. Marvin Goldsmith, back-Marv was the triple-threat man of the team. He did most of the passing and all the kicking for the team. Larry Rupp, end-Larry's great defensive ability won him a place on the all-league first team. He also turned in good performances at his position as offensive end. Gerald Krick, end--Gerald was another of the defensive spark-plugs of the team, His team spirit contributed much to his playing. Jim Todd, back- Satch was the powerhouse of the team. He was called upon when we needed two or three yards badly. Jim was elected co-captain. Roger Watkins, back-Roger called the plays and was more or less the brains of the team. He also was an ex- cellent ground gainer. Gerald Sampson, back-Although Gerald didn't see too much action, he was probably the best trainer on the team, and his spirit was an inspiration to his teammates. NOT PICTURED Jack Smith, center-Smitty proved to be an excellent cen- ter for his first year at that position. He was also elected co-captain. John Miley, tackle-John could be counted upon to fill quite a gap in the line.
