Precious And Few Are The Moments Front Row: CL-RJ B. Heller, A. Eisenman, B. Kerr. Back Row: CL-RJ C. Hartwig, T. Hanke, L. Larson. This year's Junior Girls dance was held December 23, 1978 at the Youth Building in Marathon Park with an after party held in the Wausau West Commons. One-hundred ten couples attended the dance with music by Full Sail. The dance, which provides Scholarships for Senior Girls, raised more money this year than previous dances. The Junior Class would like to thank Mr. Witasek, Mr. Gifford and the Sophomore Girls for their help to make the dance a success. l l

King Dan Powell and Dawn Niewolny Jim Hartwlg and Michele Kilinski This past February was a new beginning for an old event: Winter Carnival. The absense of the event has been noticed for several years, fthe event was dropped in 19765. When plans were in the making for a city-wide event, Student Council decided to sponsor the event here at West. The committee which handled all the planning consisted of Jane Goetzke, Linda Barrington, Laura Fitzsimmons, Linda Barthels, and Shelly Sippl. Activities were the Boy's Ice Cream Eatingcontest won King Mike Cleveland and Lisa Misoni Brad Berndt and Sue Lemmer by the Freshmen, the Boy's Three-legged Relay and GirI's Ice Cream Eating captured by the Sophomores, and the Seniors whisked away the GirI's Basketball Relay. The King Contest resulted in a tie: Mike Cleveland and Dan Powell were given trophies to remember their day as royalty. To end the activities, a rock dance featuring Atlantis was held in the commons. Overall, the event was a success and hopefully will be continued in the years to come.
