BANNERMAN Sllflfffllffillftffll of Svlnoolv BOARD OF EDUCATION DEAR STUDENTS: The publication of the 1952-53 Wahiscan marks the close of another school year, and it is a gen- uine pleasure to congratulate the entire editorial staff and faculty advisers on a task well done. The planning and successful completion of the school Year Book entails considerable hard work and re- quires the wholehearted co-operation of faculty, students and publishers. Teachers and students alike look forward to the dedication and distribution of the Wahiscan, and when the magic hour arrives, a sense of ex- pectancy permeates the entire student body. The dedication, examining the many interesting pages and securing numerous signatures provide a most exciting interlude in the school routine. A careful examination of the Year Book brings into focus the many and varied achievements of individual students' clubs, athletic teams, foren- sic groups and cultural organizations. We cannot help being impressed by the many splendid oppor- tunities provided by the school for self-improve- ment. It is clear that each student must plan care- fully through study, hard work and selective par- ticipation in the co-curricular activities in order to adequately prepare for the responsibilities which lie ahead. Our school is composed of many people, numerous activities and miscel- laneous factors. Each plays an important role in the total picture and success of Wausau High. One of our most popular and out- standing activities is the yearly publica- tion, the Wahiscan. lt serves a real pur- pose by offering rich experiences for all those who aid in its compilation. Also, it furnishes a medium for students to be- come better acquainted in work and play, all of which tends to result in better school citizenship. Congratulations to the Wahiscan staff and faculty advisors for another well organized and beautiful an- nual!
