Wisconsin, 1955 Any of the students with whom he has come in contact in his many capacities here at WHS will tes- tify to the fact that a more genial or more helpful person than Mr. Harvey Ridge could not be found. Mr. Ridge was born at Whitewater, Wisconsin, on March 15, 1899, where he attended high school and received two years of normal school training. He then began teaching and, by attending fourteen summer sessions, attained the degree of Master of Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin in 1935. He left the position of Assistant Principal at Rice Lake to come to Wausau in 1936 and in 1937 was ap- pointed Dean of Boys, a capacity in which many Demi of Boy! students have had opportunity to meet him. ln addition to being occupied with teaching, coun- selling, Astronomy Club work. and Uthrotar and being nationally recognized for his work in Masonry and DeMolay, our dedicatee has found time to ac- cumulate a very impressive collection of postage stamps. His main hobby, however. is travel. and he enjoys nothing more than to discuss a camping trip to the West made earlier in his life. He also enjoys reading, usually between two and four A.M. Harvey john Ridge, to whom we dedicate this XX'ahiscan. has truly given unselfishly of his time and energy to the youth of Yifausau.
