The de- velopment of the atomic bomb, involving as it does the separation of the atom, is of such tremendous significance that we of this generation are too near the event to adequately comprehend what it really means. Other new discoveries and inventions have greatly reduced the size of the world. Distance is no longer the insuperable barrier between nations that it was even yesterday. The lesson taught by these new marvels, all of which may be made of benefit to mankind, is to be prepared. lt is your duty to so prepare yourselves today that you can take your place confidently in the complex society of tomorrow.
