Content This year, as in the past, the Wahiscan stahf has striven to bring you an accurate picture of Iiie at WI-IS. We have described the athletic contests, the plays, the clubs, and the band. We have presented the Forensic activities, the important social aiiairs, and the school publications. But we cannot pretend that this year has been Iilce other years. During it, thousands oi American soldiers have been slain on the battlegrounds of Europe. They are dying now in the vast Pacific. Nevertheless, with hope and iaith, we today looI4 toward the future and peace. With this view in mind, we have made peace the theme oi this Wahiscan. Our headlines, copy, and cap- tions adhere to this theme whenever possible. Adminis- tration, Activities, Sports, and People, all these sections embody thoughts of peace. But all of us, students, faculty, citizens, must worI4 to promote this ideal. An enduring peace means worlc, For the tasks oi peace are even greater than the tasI4s oi war. And as citizens oi a great democracy, it is our worlc to lead in establishing a lasting peace. The choice is ours, we hold the Iuture in our hands.
