Scecalled practical men are prone to become skeptics and to lose faith in all Eiut material things. However, a life which retains a belief in the existence of honor and honesty and the application of the Golden Rule is vastly richer and can render a deeper service to humanity than can that of the shallow skeptic. Today half the world is in chaos because of the abandonment of ideals. The dread Four Horsemen mlFCU'lqlf1e, Pestilence, War, and Death --if are again ruthlessly riding over prostrate peoples. ln our own country, wide- spread charges of graft and corruption and inefficiency in high places some- times almost bring despair. This is a plea to each of you to keep your faith that despite all faults the great heart of America still throbs and keeps alive the spirit of justice and equality and the fundamental right of every person to work out his own destiny. The Great Teacher was an idealist. Practical men have rejected His teachings. Practical men have had their way for many generations. The result of their domination is plainly evident across the sea.
