; - ' ' 7C0ZPKJMZS One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But 1 have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. 1 don't understand why when 1 needed you most you would leave me. The LORD replied, My precious, precious child, I love you and 1 would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of foot- prints, it was then that I carried you. Author- unknown jjv MmoKy o? PAU£ ZMKOSfflK Always a smile, never a frown, Always a hand when someone was down; Happiness you gave to everyone you knew. No better things could anyone do. Your presence brought joy to everyone's heart. Laughter and cheerfulness right from the start. God gave us a gift, then took it away. But your beautiful memory is here to stay. The blow is hard, the schock severe. We little thought your death so near. And only those who have lost can tell The pain of parting without farewell. Everyone really got all wrapped up for this day. On Tuesday everyone showed up wearing outfits that really clashed. It was obvious that some of these people didn't have very much clothes coordination. You almost had to wear sunglasses so you wouldn't be blinded by all the wild and crazy colors!! Everyone really got into the spirit of things on Wednesday, which was Punk Day. We had some wild and crazy characters roaming the halls that day. A few people even discovered that their hair would glow in the dark. Thursday was a little bit more toned down when everyone came all scuzzed out with their dirty and grubby clothes on. That night a bonfire was held in the west school parking lot. Each class performed a skit. This really helped boost our school's spirit. On Friday everyone's spirit was boosted even more by wearing purple and gold or in dress clothes. A pep rally was held on Main Street. During the pep rally awards were handed out for the best outfits and spirit boosters. The awards for Bandage Day went to Daniele Anderson; Clash Day went to Denise Tollefson; Punk Day went to Missy McQuay; Dirty Grubby award went to Michelle Wintz; and the Purple and Gold award went to Sandy Swanson. Other awards were for the best decorated hall and the teacher with the most spirit. These were presented to the Freshmen and to Mr. Tucker. i MOMseOMJM The fog and rain didn't stop the Vikings on Homecoming 84 as they defeated the Laurel Bears 30-6.
