CLASS COLORS Silver and Red CLASS FLOWER Red Rose Class History In the fall of 1972, 35 Freshmen began wandering the halls of W.H.S. These included: Tim Albrecht, Gail Barnes, Brian Blair, Laddy Carlson, Mary' Carlson, Robert Carlson, Ron Carlson, Roger Claussen, Tom Cunningham, Judy Doerr, Charlene Dooley, Patrice Elsberry, Dave Enquist, Doyle Folck, Kim Johnson, Nancy Koehler, Gene Lam- precht, Carlene Lind, Bob Mittan, Marty Muller, Denise Munter, Kyle Newberg, Murray Peters, Connie Prather, Ed Remm, John Ritchey, Randy Rohde, Will Schaller, Dave Strivens, Sharlene Thorell, William Thorell, Kathy Wachter, Jill Wakeley, Stan Wamberg, Cindy Wrick. Elected as class officers that year were: Cindy W., pres.; Bob M., vice-pres. ; Ron C., sec.; Dave E., treas. Stu- dent Council representatives were: Connie P., Gail B., Kim J., and Tim A. Homecoming attendants were Kim J. and Gail B. Carlene L. served as the Freshmen cheerleader. Mr. Story was class sponsor. Before the end of the year, Cheryl McQuay brought the total number to 36. After whiling away the summer hours in fun and frivolity, 36 people returned to the serious business of being Sopho- mores. They were led by Dave E. as pres., with Carlene L. second in command. As Patrice E. took notes, Jill W. counted the money. Mr. Story still advised. The students were represented in the Student Council by Denise M., Connie P., Bob M., and Roger C. Gail B. and Connie P. helped lead the cheers and Dave E. and Connie P. served as Homecoming attendants. During the year Pat Lind joined the class, and Charlene D. left, leaving the total at In 1975, the theme for the Junior-Senior Banquet was Sunshine. The Juniore, with the help of their sponsors, Mr. Ankeny and Mrs. Kuhlman, decorated the auditorium basement for the occasion. Ron C., class vice-pres., headed the Prom committees. As president of the class, Bob M. served as Master of Ceremonies. Denise M., class secre- tary gave the dinner blessing and Laddy C., treasurer, paid the bills. The Juniore were represented in several school activities by: Kim J. and Gail B., Homecoming attendants; Connie P. and Gail B., cheerleaders; Nancy K., Jill W., Robert C., Paul B., Student Council. The Junior class play was Violence by John Jakes, directed by Mr. Story. Frank Lampone and Paul Bloomquist joined the class at the be- ginning of the year and Pat L. left, making 37 students to return as Seniors the following year. The Seniors of 1976 had a busy year ahead when they returned to W.H.S. They elected Gene L. as Pres., Connie P. as vice-pres., Gail B. as treas., and Laddy C. as secretary. Connie and Gail were Senior cheerleaders and also vied for the honor of Homecoming Queen. Kim J. and Roger C. were candidates for King. The Seniors presented the play Me and My Shadow on April 9 and on April 16 took their Sneak Day to Omaha. On May 12, 1976, the Seniors of 1976 had the honor of being the first class to graduate from the new gym addition to the High School. 6
