CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1964 forty-four freshmen entered Wausa High School to begin four hectic but fun-filled years. The class included: Daniel Albrecht. Fred Anderson. Jerry Anderson. Steve Anderson. Steve Banks. LaVonne Block. Lois Brasch, Marcia Bratetic, Donna Bryant. Margaret Bruder, Barbara Carlson. Mary Lou Claussen. Pa- tricia Claussen. Bonnie Doten. James Eifert, Susan Ekdahl, David Ellingson, Sandra Erickson. Neal Feldman, Deborah Friedrich. Verlene Gustafson. Betty Haskin. Larry Holmquist. Steve Johnson. Dayle Kinkaid. Neil Kirby. Myron Kumm, Harvey Landholm. David Larson. Brenda Lauck. Marcille Lind. Marcia Mittan, Randall Nelson. Jerry Nickless. Glen Olson. Larry Pearson. Anita Peters. Pandall Peterson. Gale Retzlaff, Glen Retzlaff. Donna Skalberg. Craig Vanness. Kathy Wakeley. Merileen Wakeley. Class Officers were: President - Neil Kirby; Vice President - Randy Nelson; Secretary - Steven Anderson; Treasurer - Marcille Lind. The Student Council members were: Pat Claussen. Bonnie Doten. David Ellingson. and Larry Holmquist. Our class sponsor was Miss Arent. Pat Claussen was our cheerleader. Freshman Homecoming attendants were Debbie Friedrich and Dave Ellingson. During the first semester Margaret Bruder left and Richard Van Houten joined the class. Forty-five sophomores returned to Wausa High. Debra Lamprecht entered in the fall Devrey Harper entered in the spring and Donna Bryant and Pat Claussen left in the fall. Class officers were: President - Barbara Carl- son; Vice President - Harvey Landholm. Secretary - Bonnie Doten; Treasurer - David Ellingson. Members of the Student Council were: Marcille Lind, Kathy Wakeley. Neil Kirby, and Randy Nelson. Miss Arent and Mr. Un- ger were our sponsors. Deb Friedrich was elected sophomore cheerleader. Bonnie Doten and Neil Kirby were Homecoming Attendants. Forty-one juniors entered school in the fall of 1966. Dennis DeRoin, and Pat Claussen entered the class and Deb Lamprecht and Randy Peterson left. Junior officers were: President - Verlene Gustafson; Vice President - Larry Holmquist; Secretary - Barbara Carlson; and Treasurer - Marcia Bratetic. Student Council members were: Deb Friedrich. Kathy Wakeley. Neil Kirby, and Randy Nelson. Junior Class sponsors were Mrs. Rosen and Mr. Unger. Cheerleaders were Deb Friedrich and Bonnie Doten. The juniors' play was Willie's Weekend , held on October 18. 1966. It was directed by Mrs. Orville Johnson. Our class rings arrived December 23. 1966. Home- coming attendants were Kathy Wakeley and Larry Holmquist. The Juniors honored the Seniors at a banquet on May 5. 1967. The theme was Apple Blossom Time. In the fall of 1967, Seniors returned for their last year at Wausa High School. Jim Eifert left the class this year. Our class officers were: President - Neil Kirby; Vice-President - Randy Nelson; Secretary - Larry Holm- quist; and Treasurer - Marcille Lind. Harvey Landholm. Steve Banks. Barbara Carlson, and Deb Friedrich served on Student Council. Mr. Wamberg and Mr. Johnson were our sponsors. Senior Cheerleaders were Bonnie Doten and Deb Friedrich. Senior pictures were taken on October 16. 1967 by Genelli Studios. Sioux City. Iowa. Kathy Wakeley and Neil Kirby were crowned Queen and King at Homecoming on October 23, 1967.
