CLASS OFFICERS - Arly Johnson, Vice President; Jeanette Lind, Secretary; Marcia Nelson, Treasurer; Randy Carlson, President. In the fall of 1963, forty-one freshmen walked through the doors of Wausa High School to begin four busy and fun-filled years. The class included: Sally Anderson, Beverly Banks, Linda Benson, Mark Bernhard- son, Robert Brandi, Michael Bryant, Michael Calkins, Randall Carlson, Twila Carlson, Michael ElDorado, Janet Erickson, Kathleen Erickson, Ruth Greenwall, John Heck- athorn, Lynda Hoppe, Gene Jacob, Larry Jacob, Donna Jensen, Arly Johnson, Dennis Kinkaid, Gaylord Kumm, Charlotte Landholm, Wayne Langemeier, Sharon Larson, Jeanette Lind, James Lindquist, William Monson, Deana Nelson, Marcia Nelson, Mickey Pearson, Mark Pfeil, Dale Schultz, Barbara Swanson, Ronald Swanson, William Strivens, Byron Vanness, Douglas Wakeley, Larry Wakeley, Robert Wakeley, and Susan Wamberg. Freshman class officers were: President, James Lindquist; Vice President, Mark Pfeil; Secretary Deana Nelson; and Treasurer, Beverly Banks. Student Council members were Sharon Larson, Marcia Nelson, Randy Carlson, and Arly Johnson. Miss Arent served as class sponsor. Deana Nelson was chosen cheerleader. The homecoming attendants were Beverly Banks and James Lindquist. Michael Calkins moved during the first se- mester. Forty-two sophomores returned for their second year at Wausa High. Sharon Larson and Douglas Wakeley left before the term began, Marjorie Hopkins, Bonnis Haskin, and Vernon Erickson joined the class at the be- ginning of the year. Class officers were: President, Arly Johnson; Vice President, Randy Carlson; Secretary, Beverly Banks; and Treasurer, Marcia Nelson. Lynda Hoppe, Deana Nelson, James Lindquist, and Mark Pfeil served as Student Council members. Class sponsors were Mr. McCord and Mr. Hokom. Deana Nelson again served as cheerleader. Homecoming attendants were Deana Nelson and Arly Johnson. Thirty-eight juniors began the 1965 - 66 school term. Lynda Hoppe and Robert Brandi had left before the term began. Dennis Kinkaid, John Heckathorn, Jeanette Lind, and Randy Carlson served as president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, respectively. Student council members were Barbara Swanson, Beverly Banks, Arly Johnson, and James Lindquist. Class sponsors were Mrs. Rosen and Mr. Dalton. Deana Nelson and Barbara Swanson served as cheerleaders. On October 26, 1965, the juniors presented their class play, Oh Man, under the direction of Mrs. Johnson. They received their class rings on February 22, 1966. Home- coming attendants were Marcia Nelson and Mark Pfeil. The juniors honored the seniors at a banquet on May 6, 1966. The theme was Paradise Cove. Mike Bryant moved during the year. In the fall of 1966, thirty-six seniors returned for their final year at Wausa High. Ruth Greenwall left be- fore the term began. Robert Anderson joined the class at the beginning of the year. Senior class officers were: President, Randy Carlson; Vice President, Arly Johnson; Secretary, Jeanette Lind; and Treasurer, Mar- cia Nelson. Deana Nelson, Janet Erickson, Larry Wakeley, and James Lindquist served on the student council. Mr. Edmunds and Mr. Johnson were class sponsors. The cheerleaders were Deana Nelson and Beverly Banks. The senior pictures were taken on October 20, 1966, by the Haberman Studios of Hastings, Nebraska. Deana Nelson and Arly Johnson were crowned Queen and King at Homecoming on September 30, 1966. The senior attendants were Marcia Nelson and Mark Pfeil. The seniors were honored by the juniors at a banquet on May 5, 1967. Baccalaureate services were held on May 14. Commencement exercises were held on May 17 to end four happy and memorable years of high school for the seniors of 1967.
