CLASS OFFICERS - Bruce Pfeil, President; Vemelle Bjorkman, Vice President; JoAnn Bengtson, Secretary; Kathleen Lind, Treasurer. In August, 1961, twenty-seven very timid freshmen started four fun and busy years at Wausa High. The class members were; Jim Albrecht, Kenneth Anderson, Leo Anderson, Linda Ayers, Barbara Banks, JoAnn Bengtson, Vernelle Bjorkman, John Bryant, Sharon Doten, Carol Dredge, Anita Erickson, Modene Erickson, James Feldman, Dennis Jensen, Barbara Johnson, Mary Ann Kalvelage, Darrel Kent, Dennis Larson, Kathleen Lind, Richard Lind, Lajean Malm- strom, Dorothy Nelson, Michael Peters, Bruce Pfeil, Ann Schultz, Terry Wamberg, and Jimmy White. Class officers: President, Dennis Larson; Vice President, Bruce Pfeil; Secretary, Anita Erickson; Treasurer, Dorothy Nelson. Student Council; Barbara Banks, Barbara Johnson, Darrel Kent, and Terry Wamberg. Our sponsor was Miss Arent. Our cheerleader was Barbara Johnson. Barbara Johnson and Dennis Larson represented us at the 1962 Homecoming. Sarah Kumm joined our class during the second semester to bring our class total to twenty-eight. Twenty-six sophomores returned for the 1962-63 term. Darrel Kent and Sarah Kumm left during the summer. Class officers; President, Barbara Banks; Vice President, Bruce Pfeil; Sec- retary, Ann Schultz; Treasurer, Barbara Johnson. Student Council; JoAnn Bengtson, Anita Erickson, Dennis Larson, and Mike Peters. Our sponsor was Mr. Olson. Barbara Johnson again served as cheerleader. Our Homecoming attendants were Barbara Banks and Terry Wamberg. Jim Albrecht left during the first semester, leaving our class with a total of twenty-five mem- bers. In August, 1963, twenty-five juniors returned. Class officers; President, Ann Schultz; Vice President. Dorothy Nelson; Secretary, Anita Erickson; Treasurer, Bruce Pfeil. Student Council; Barbara Banks. Vemelle Bjorkman, Dennis Larson, and Mike Peters. Our sponsors were Mrs. Rosen and Mr. Lundeen. Our cheerleaders were Barbara Banks and Barbara Johnson. On October 29, 1963, we presented our junior class play, “Little Acorns,” under die direction of Mr. Klopp. We received our class rings on December 12. Ann Schultz and Bruce Pfeil were attendants at the Homecoming of 1964. Wanda Cunningham joined the class during the second semester to bring our class total to twenty-six. The juniors honored die seniors at a banquet on May 1, 1964. The theme was Fiesta . On August 24, 1964, twenty-seven anxious seniors returned for their final year at Wausa High. Mary' Nickless came before the term began. Class officers; President, Bruce Pfeil; Vice President, Vemelle Bjorkman; Secretary, JoAnn Bengtson; Treasurer, Kathleen Lind. Members on the Student Council; Barbara Johnson, Ann Schultz, Mike Peters, and Terry Wamberg. Our sponsors were Mr. Johnson and Mr. Edmunds. Barbara Banks and Barbara Johnson again served as cheerleaders. On October 14, 1964, the senior pictures were taken by Genelli Studios of Sioux City. Iowa. The seniors presented their class play, Do You Trust Your Boy Friend? , on December 1, directed by Mr. Robert Hokom. The juniors honored us at a banquet on May 7, 1965.
