Let others do the working, I'll do the resting. One sunny morning I decided to write a book I After scribbling a few lines, I knew I didn't have enough ma- terial, so I packed and started out for a trip. I needed some secretarial help so I took along several old friends, Karen C., Lois, Diana, and Neola. As we were buying plane tickets, I noticed a familiar face. I finally placed him as Charles L., an old class- mate. He told me he owned this airline. We had very little time to talk, but he told me that Delwyn was his chief accountant. Then we were ready, or so we thought, until I noticed another lady was seated in my plane seat. I consulted the stewardess, who I was happy to find was Karla, and she helped me find another seat. Gil- lilan's Cattle Ranch owned by Dennis was pointed out to us as we flew over the Midwest. Soon we landed in Chi- cago. Immediately I headed for the beauty salon, where I found Kathy, Dixie, and Connie employed as beauti- cians. Sitting next to me under the dryer was a top fashion consultant, who I recognized as Linda. Later, while I was on my way to the hotel I bumped into a group of old friends in Chicago on a Teachers' Convention. It was so nice to see Marjorie N., Joyce, Sharlyn, Ann, and Marjorie S. again. They told me that David was now superintendent of a Chicago school. As I walked down the street I glanced in a window and another-old classmate, Judy, who was now working as a dental assistant. I went in and we talked about old school days. Over the radio we heard the voice of Charles J. describing a Yankee baseball game. She told me that Merwyn was an artist for Walt Disney and that Curtis and Dennis B. were working there as business accountants. We decided to have dinner that evening in the Conrad- Hilton. While Judy finished up work I glanced at the newspaper. A story caught my eye. It said that Secretary of Agriculture Bruce Johnson and Under Secretary Robert Seagren were working on new aids to the farmer. Farther down the page I read that research scientist, Perry, and assistant, Rodney N. has discovered a new rocket fuel. A supermarket ad attracted my attention when I noticed the market was owned by Layne and VaNoy. The sports page was headlined, Kliment Breaks Mile Record, and I knew this had to be Leonard. That evening on our way to dinner a familiar wink caught my eye, and, of course, it was Boyd, who was a successful farmer. The show that night starred Stub and His Magic Guitar, of course this was Rodney J. Also appearing with him was singer Lyman and a clarinet trio, one of which was Karen K. The evening soon ended, but it had been a wonderful day. I was so glad that I had seen all my former classmates. As I walked home, I was reminded of four wonderful years at Wausa High School.
