SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS CLASS HISTORY On August 30, 1954, twenty-four green” Freshmen entered Wausa High School for the beginning of four wonderful years and to continue their educational activities. They were Linda Anderson, Jean Banks, Delwyn Beaudette, Roger Bengston, Dennis Black, Bruce Bloomquist, Loren Bruder, Richard Carlson, Douglas Claussen, Gary Custer, Eldon Fink, Patrick Haley, Ardis Halleen, John Hillberg, Mary Lou Johnson, Karen Larson, Sharon Lindquist, Richard Nelson, LaNoy Norman, Vicky Pearson, Jon Phillips, Bonita Swanson Rosen, Roger Swanson, and JoAnn Suhr. At the first class-meeting the following officers were elected: President, Richard Carlson; Vice President, Jon Phillips; Secretary, Dennis Black; and Treasurer, Roger Swanson. Linda Anderson, Karen Larson, Bruce Bloomquist, and Patrick Haley were elected to serve on the student council. Mr. Vorce served as our class sponsor. Linda Anderson and Jon Phillips were the Homecoming Attendants. Ardis Halleen was our cheerleader. On August 30, 1955, twenty-four Sophomores returned to Wausa High. Delwyn Beaudette moved away during the year decreasing the enrollment to twenty-three. Class officers were: President, Linda Ander- son; Vice President, Vicky Pearson; Secretary, Jean Banks; and Treasurer, Karen Larson. Mary Lou John- son, Ardis Halleen, Gary Custer, and Richard Carlson represented the Sophomores on the student council. Mr. Gunderson served as our class sponsor. Attendants to the King and Queen at Homecoming were Jean Banks and Richard Carlson. Ardis Halleen and Mary Lou Johnson were cheerleaders. Twenty-three Juniors enrolled for their third year at Wausa High School in September, 1956. Class officers were; President, Jean Banks; Vice President, LaNoy Norman; Secretary, Gary Custer; and'Treas- urer, Richard Nelson. Mary Lou Johnson, Vicky Pearson, Richard Carlson, and Dennis Black served on the student council. The Juniors presented their play, The Calamity Kids, ” on November 3. Mrs. V. Glaze Reed directed the play. Junior class rings came December 13. On May 3, the Junior Class honored the Seniors with the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. We had a Hawaiian theme. Miss Matsumotto and Mr. Paradisanos were our class sponsors. Homecoming Attendants were Mary Lou Johnson and Douglas Claus- sen. Mary Lou Johnson was our cheerleader. September 2, 1957, twenty-three Seniors returned to Wausa High for their final year. Jerome Bauerly became a member of our class during the year. Class officers were: President, LaNoy Norman; Vice President, Richard Carlson; Secretary, Vicky Pearson; and Treasurer, Karen Larson. Student Council representatives were Linda Anderson, Jean Banks, Loren Bruder, and Douglas Claussen. Homecoming Attendants were Jean Banks, Ardis Halleen, Richard Carlson, and Jon Phillips. Mary Lou Johnson and Ardis Halleen were our cheerleaders. Our sponsors were Mr. Johnson and Mr. Gunderson. The seniors pre- sented their class play, The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come, March 21, with Miss Mengedoht dir- ecting. Senior pictures were taken on October 21 by Genelli Studios of Sioux City, Iowa. On the night of May 2, the Juniors gave a banquet in honor of the Seniors. Baccalaureate exercises were held on May 18. The final get together of the Seniors was the Commencement program which was held on May 21. 10 L. G. Teachers think that I’m so sweet - they always want me in the foremost seat. I believe in work but I’m not in favor of it.
