Class History In the fall of 1949, twenty-four Freshmen en- rolled in Wausa High. They were: Lorey Ander- son, Vonnie Beaudette, Demar Burns, Helen Doo- ley, Gilbert Dooley, Eldon Ellerbruch, Garold Hag- berg, Connie Haley, Lois Hillberg, DaVLee John- son, Roland Johnson, Barbara Linquist, Elda Loren- son, Ramona McConnell, Tommy Nelson, Junior Newman, Gerald Norman, Clark Peterson, Joan Peterson, Kenneth Plog, Ralph Prather, Lester Swanson, Warren Udd, and Rodney Wilbeck. At the first class meeting Kenneth Plog was chosen president; Connie Haley, vice-president; Ramona McConnell, secretary-treasurer; Lois Hillberg, social chairman; and Miss Thorell, class sponsor. Student council members were Connie Haley and Vonnie Beaudette. On September 5, 1950, twenty-eight Soph- omores enrolled with five new members: Eliza- beth Oesch, Betty Surber, Julian Smith, Lowell Hanson, and Violet Johnson. Helen Dooley finish- ed part of the first semester in Lincoln but return- ed to Wausa, leaving the enrollment at twenty- eight. Class officers elected were as follows: pres- ident, Vonnie Beaudette; vice-president, Ralph Prather; secretary, Elizabeth Oesch; treasurer, Low- ell Hanson. The sponsor was Mr. Fred Vorce. Eliza- beth Oesch, Lois Hillberg, Vonnie Beaudette, and Rodney Wilbeck represented them in the Student Council. With the reopening of school on September 3, 1951, twenty-six Juniors enrolled with one new member, Richard Oxley. Elizabeth Oesch trans- ferred to Creighton High and Violet Johnson left school, leaving the enrollment at twenty-six. Dur- ing the year Ramona McConnell, Helen Dooley, and Lowell Hanson discontinued their school work. The class officers were as follows: Gerald Norman, president; DaVLee Johnson, vice-presi- dent; Betty Surber, secretary; Richard Oxley, treas- urer. Those elected to serve as members of the Student Council were Joan Peterson, Lois Hillberg, Clark Peterson, and Kenneth Plog. The Juniors presented their class play, Finders Creepers, on November 20. It was directed by Mr. Reno Bertsch. On May 9, the seniors were honored with the annual Junior-Senior banquet. The theme was Hawaiian Cruise. On September 1, twenty-three seniors enrolled for the final year of high school. The class officers were: DaVLee Johnson, president; Rodney Wil- beck, vice-president; Joan Peterson, secretary; Warren Udd, treasurer. Student council members are: Tom Nelson, Clark Peterson, Elda Lorenson, Barbara Linquist. The Seniors had their class pic- tures taken by Genelli on October 20.
