ECHOES OF THE PAST . . . just a century ago the north ward of Wau- pun bought from Seymour Wilcox the land on which our school stands. Below is the early grade and high school built on this site. In 1872 the south ward built a grade and high school, pictured left. The bell from its old tower stands on our present campus--a link with the past. Eventually the old north ward school burned. The south ward school was en- larged to become a high school for the whole city. Then, swelling enrollments forced the erection of a new high school in 1911. This, the core of our present building, had three later additions. , , Q C J gig!
