In basketball the teams were named after colleges in the Big Ten. Purdue came in first place, and Dave Cate was high-point man for the season. There were eight rinks participating when the Waupaca High School Curling Club entered its fifth season. With Mr. Danielson as coach, the club sent rinks to bonspiels at Wausau, Madison and Appleton, winning over rinks from Appleton, Wausau, Poynette, and Lodi. The first, second, and third events of the intra-clul: bonspiel were won by the Pinkerton, Waid, and Waush rinks respectively. The 1955 club was affiliated with the W. I. A. Decorations were in the South Pacific mood. .Lid IQQALJJ ZF. ' i wg. King Mike Ryan and Queen Sally Stratton with their court Tom Girard Dorothy Chandler Betty Belt and Jerry Johnson reigned over the 1954 Prom. The theme, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, was carried out very authentically. Music was furnished by the Jimmy James Orchestra. 1
