WAUNFTA BRONCOS r R TH PI A TTF Now I know what a duck feels like. Senior At 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30 twenty-three seniors boarded the Bronco bus heading for Basalt, Colorado. The seniors arrived in Denver at 11:30 and ate a small lunch and stretched their legs. They left Denver and started the long climb to Basalt. They reached Basalt at 5:30, March 31. At 8:30, they headed for Snowmass Mountain. Finding proper fitting ski boots was difficult for some — especially Rod McMInn. His size 16 feet had to fit Into a pair of size 15 boots. After a day of bumps and bruises, spills and thrills, everyone was tired .. EXCEPT Lee Denker. He stayed awake 43 hours and 15 minutes. He dares the class of 79 to break his record on THEIR senior trip. For those who wanted to ski on Saturday, morning came early. The rest went into Aspen to shop and look around. Some of the treasures bought were a cane that squirts water, and Ed Fye bought a bunny rabbit. On Saturday night a few of the I feel like a yo-yo. Seniors went Into Aspen for supper. Those who remained entertained themselves like Cleve Anerson. He fell asleep In the early evening and woke up to discover that he was trying to drink the alarm clock. Diane Heiberg was surprised with a birthday cake to cele- brate her birthday. The group left Basalt at 5:30 Sunday morning for Denver. They went to McNichols Sports Arena for the Denver Nuggets-Houston Rockets basketball game. The Great Class of '78 Heellpp!! 68 After the game, the tired seniors checked into the Bel-caro Motel. They got a chance to rest before leaving for the Country Dinner Playhouse, to see Never Get Smart With An Angel. Monday morning was spent tourning Denver. Then at 2:00 the red and white bus headed for Wauneta. The ride was not boring, as everyone was playing cards or telling jokes or scaring someone with Mike Fanning's new mask. A drive down Wauneta main street let everyone know that the Seniors of '78 were home. Then there was a mad scramble for luggage and packages, but everyone was glad to be home. Their sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Jim McKinney and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Troudt. Their fearless bus driver was Mr. Edwin Kanost. The senior trip was one that everyone will remember. 7978 Anyone for '01 Maid? WAUNETA RECREATION GRIMMS HARDWARE HI-WAY GARAGE WA MONTGOMERY WARD CATALOG STORE C. Chrlstner E. Chrlstner T. Cox L.
