I TRAM RAL Basketball Volleyball Intramural sports play an important part in the lives of WHS students during the winter months. Volleyball and basketball are available, for both boys and girls, But enthusiasm doesn't end with the players. The spectators too find intramurals IT1OSt exciting, and encourage their favorite team with yells from the side line. The winners received shiny, gold trophies. Basketball: Bernice Van Horn, Betty Reick, Elizabeth Nolting, Mary Taylor, Sibyl Jacobson, Lynn Eaton. Volleyball: Charles Nolting, Ron Lindblom, Larry Enyart, Dennis Winkie, Ron Henning, Dan Iver- son, Jim Boland, Mike Regan, Roger Vonderhoe. Basketball: Robert Moline, Mike Regan, Butch Fossum, Gene Dee, Dick Hansmeier, Bill Moody. Volleyball: Elizabeth Nolting, Karen Roe, Lorraine Webster, Jody Kiesau, Greta Mohwinkel, Ardith Gress, Pat Zoll, Julie Jackson. The games were exciting and full of pep-- a good intramural season for players and spectators alike. And although all the teams may not have been winning, good sportsmanship was shown by all. Every day at 2:38 during the spring, seventeen boys can be seen practicing baseball at the fair- grounds. They practice diligently to keep up their sharp reactions for the next game, everyone hoping to be one of the nine starters. But no matter what position he plays every boy has spirit, so necessary for a good sportsman.
